"Peter," Autumn says. “We’re not fucking together. These are my alphas!”
Peter surges forward and Clint moves fast, putting himself fully between them again. I catch Peter by the back of the collar, and slam him to a stop.
"I drove all the way out here for you, baby." His gaze never leaves her, even as I keep one fist knotted in his collar, holding him upright. "I saw you playin' ranch wife with these assholes, but you're mine. I don't want to have to take you forcefully, but I will."
My vision narrows as Autumn's face goes pale.
Peter grins. "See, I knew you'd come around."
She flinches, and my vision goes red.
I hit him again, a hook to the temple. His head snaps sideways and he staggers, but I yank him back by the collar before he can fall. Blood drips from his ear now. He blinks, dazed, but the smile doesn't leave his face.
"Baby, tell them! I came all the way here for you!"
Punch.
"You're coming home!"
Punch.
He tries to wrench free. "Tell them!"
Every word makes him sound like a man who's been living inside his own fantasy for so long, he can't separate it from reality anymore.
Tripp drops the wrench and grabs Peter's arm, wrenching it behind his back. I take the other one. Together, we haul him across the yard.
"You don't know her like I do!"
He drags his feet, trying to dig his heels into the dirt.
"She loves me!"
“I never fucking loved you!” Autumn screams.
I look toward her, and she’s still in Clint’s arms, but she looks furious now.
Peter straightens.
"You're a lying bitch!" He jerks against our grip hard enough that Tripp nearly loses hold of him. "I'm gonna take you home, one way or another. Hunter will see us at our wedding, or our funeral. Your choice!"
Autumn's expression goes completely flat.
"I choose option C, neither."
Peter blinks.
"Even though it didn’t count as cheating, what if when we get home, I kill that club whore?”
"What?" Tripp asks, and I don’t even think he realizes he said it.
Peter shrugs.
"That's what club whores are for… to fuck. It’s not cheating."
Silence.
Then Tripp mutters, "Oh, we're definitely killing him."
