Other nights we just talk and kiss. Most nights his head is between my legs where he belongs.

But, neither of us has budged on me pegging him. It’s his decision. I know he’d look cute on his back with his fine ass taking my strap.

I’m itching for a blunt, though, but I just need to keep it cool right now. Because being around Drey is too tempting right now. There’s no way I can publicly disrespect my fiancé. We have an understanding, one that my father can never find out about.

“Did you put this together?” Anthony asks me.

“Nah, Kye did.”

He raises a brow. “Stop playing.”

“No, she did all this.”

“Damn, maybe she’ll stop stressing you out and keep doing this to stay busy.”

I shrug. “Who knows? She gets bored easily. We’ll see how long this lasts,” I say, looking around the spot.

Anthony hands me my drink.

I take a sip and sway a little, because it’s hitting the spot. It goes down smooth, just the way I like it. I turn around and focus on the LED sign with Alexis’ name.

I wonder how much this shit costs.

Then I look over in the corner and see Kye making out with some girl. Typical Kye shit. She probably just met her.

One of the bartenders in a fitted dress and heels walks around with a bottle topped with sparklers. Damn, this spot is lit.

“Taking over for the ‘99 and the 2000!” The lyrics blast through the speakers.

Anthony grabs my hand and pulls me toward the dance floor. “Your song is on.”

I shake my head. “I’m good.”

“C’mon now. Dance with your fiancé.”

Heat runs through me. For some reason, the words sound wrong. I nod and chug my drink. I follow him and turn around. I whine my hips to the music and bend over. I shake my ass on Anthony, and he grinds behind me.

This reminds me of the times he used to come over to my house to study after school, and I would practice on him. We were best friends at first, and then a few years ago we started dating.

I lean up and move against him. He grabs my waist and moves with me.

Then my heart drops when I see Drey walk into the spot and speak to one of the working girls. He looks at me and his glare is heavy.

I stay in place like I’ve just seen a ghost. He’s not my man, and I shouldn’t even be thinking about him.

Drey heads in our direction.

Fuck, I swallow hard. I know damn well he isn’t coming over here to blow my spot up.

We have an understanding, or at least I thought. I’m not about to drop everything for him.

He steps toward us, and he whispers something to Anthony. Anthony heads for the door.

“Babe!” I call out to him.

Anthony lifts a wait a minute finger and heads for the door.

I lean over to Drey. “What was that?”
