“Ye give more orders than my brother,” she said.
Tor shuddered. “Let us no’ speak of Broden Shaw now.”
Ainsley did as he said, despite her words, and dropped the soap.
“Now open yer legs and place yer hand below the water.”
Surely he did not believe she would do such a thing.
“’Tis a sin,” she started, but stopped as his eyes narrowed. Fun Tor was replaced by the warrior, the one who issued demands and expected them to be followed. Ainsley disliked that sort of man. She did as she pleased. But she inexplicably trusted him, so when he said, “Do it,” she did.
“Tor, I dinnae think—”
“Now place two of yer fingers inside.”
“Nay, I can no’.”
“Ainsley.”
Her chest rose and fell. Shoving aside a combination of shame and excitement, never taking her eyes from his, she did as he bid.
“I want ye to move them in, and out.”
She listened. And nearly stopped when Tor stood from the bed. He walked to her, towering above the tub. Then, without warning, her husband knelt while at the same time rolling up his sleeve. His hand dipped so slowly into the water, she could have stopped him. Said at any time, nay.
But she didn’t.
Instead she continued to watch him, to watch the muscles in his now-bare arm as they tightened. And then, his hand was there.
“Keep moving them, in and out,” he said, his head so close to hers she could feel the blowing of his words. His breath like mint. His scent one she could probably not sleep without now that she’d known it.
His thumb pressed against her, just above where Ainsley’s hand was so intimately placed. And then, he began to move it. Circling as he continued to urge her.
“Ye’ve naught to be ashamed of, wife.”
“I am nude inside this tub. My hands are between my legs, and yers is . . .” She had no words to describe what they were doing.
“Mine is simply showing ye where to touch yerself the next time ye do this.”
“Next time?” she managed to say. The feeling of his finger, and hers. Of Tor’s position next to her and his arm flexing just before her eyes. She was suddenly so warm. And less ashamed, apparently, as she moved her own hand more quickly each time Tor’s thumb did so.
“Like that kiss,” he whispered, “once will never be enough. Now that ye know.” His lips opened ever so slightly. His tongue darting out and then licking and biting the same lips she’d tasted the night before.
’Twas too much.
Ainsley began to tighten, her hands whipping from beneath the water to grip the sides of the tub. The tightening happened again, but more quickly. She could not breathe. Ainsley wanted to close her eyes, but she also wanted them open to see him.
His fingers thrust into her then, replacing her own, and that’s when she clenched in truth. Over and over again. Ainsley was unable to keep from squeezing her eyes shut and simply feeling. She wanted to crawl out of her skin. It was only when his hand stopped moving that Ainsley realized the trembling began to ebb too. Opening her eyes, she stared at him, wanting to ask. Wanting to say something, anything.
Instead she dropped her head to the back of the tub, not caring that her breasts popped out from the water and Tor clearly saw as much. The only thing she cared about at this very moment was, well, doing that again.
Chapter 20
He simply could not resist.
Tor slid his hand from between his wife’s legs, across the expanse of her hip, and up her waist. As she recovered from her first release, Ainsley simply stared at him. He liked her this way, letting go of a bit of control. Trusting him, when, by rights, she should not. They’d not known each other for a sennight even.
But they were married, after all.
