“Some called her a seer, others a witch. But most agreed her information was usually sound.”
“Hannah?” Tristan said, his tone unreadable.
She looked back up. “Thank you,” she said to the men. “Thank you for your help.”
Their strange experience would not allay their curiosity about her, but Hannah did not care. If this woman was right, they were here. Her sisters were really here.
“You’ve done well,” Tristan said, “but you’re to tell no one what you’ve said in this chamber.”
“My lord,” both men said with a slight bow. They turned to leave and shut the door behind them.
Hannah’s mouth felt like she’d just drunk ten cupfuls of tea. She moistened her lips and blinked, trying to focus on Tristan.
“Hannah?”
The sound of his concerned voice broke the spell, and she threw her arms around him. She wanted to jump up and down and scream with delight.
“They’re here!” she said finally. “They’re here,” she said, repeating it again and again until she was nearly dizzy with excitement, arms still wrapped around Tristan.
And then she remembered the legend. Could it be true? Could Tristan possibly be destined for her?
Hannah pulled away and looked up at Tristan. His expression told her he knew. Somehow, he knew the legend was true, just as she did.
Now what were they to do about it?
