The fridge rattled roughly, and I eased my fingers in and out until loud, wet noises filled the air. I curled them and rubbed harder, eager to hear her shatter. Another moan.

“Tell me who he is, and I’ll let you cum.”

“No,” she panted.

I sped up, pumping faster and faster until she cried out. I studied every move, every noise she made. Her flush deepened, and sweat dotted the bridge of her nose.

She was almost there.

Whether she told me who Noah was or not, I was going to hear her sing with pleasure. She was going to break, and I wanted to be the one who did it. It would be me she thought about, and no one else.

“Will you take my cock as well as you do my fingers?” I asked. “Take it as good as your mouth?”

Her brows furrowed, twisting with concentration.

“I bet you would,” I continued. “But I think you liked my gun more. Do you want my gun in your mouth again? Did it make you feel alive?”

Sutton gritted her teeth and hissed, “Stop talking.”

Her breathing sped up as she tensed, and her hand tightened its grip on my shirt as though she were fighting her release. Watching Sutton, whether in the shadows or out in the open, was better than any torture I doled out. But this…

This topped them all.

“You know,” I said against the shell of her ear. “I can’t stop thinking about that night you fucked yourself and let me watch. I wanted to fill you with so much of my cum, I would have dripped down your thighs for an entire week.”

“Oh, God,” she moaned, wildly grinding against my slick hand.

“Your god can’t save you,” I whispered, “but the devil can. Let me hear how pretty you break while wrapped around the devil’s fingers.”

With one last glide of my palm, she shattered, her broken cry hot against my neck. Her entire body convulsed, molten heat wrapping around my fingers like silk. I could watch her climax for hours just to see her skin flush, her lips part, and her eyes gloss over from pure ecstasy.

As her breathing slowed, I slid my hand from her jeans and brought it to my mouth. With a wolfish grin, I held her gaze as I sucked her off my fingers. She tasted like everything I shouldn’t want, but desperately craved.

When the high of her climax finally settled, she growled and shoved me away. I stumbled back with a tilted smile, raking my hand through my hair. She hurriedly buttoned her jeans with a scowl.

“Feel better?” I asked.

Her eyes flew to me, narrowing into a glare. “I hate you.”

I knew better than to believe that. The longer she stayed in my penthouse, the more she wanted me. She just refused to admit it. And the fact that I got under her skin so easily made me grin wider.

Without another word, Sutton turned sharply for her room, her shoes an angry beat against the floor. I chuckled quietly to myself when her door slammed shut, shaking the walls.

Satisfied, I disappeared to my workspace for the remainder of the day. Curled over my desk, I managed to hack into the local authorities system to research who Noah Sterling was.

Even though his father’s murder case was closed, Noah’s was still open, giving me every little detail they’d uncovered from that time frame. All the evidence and cold trails they’d followed. Photos of the crime scene showcased a young male, stabbed in various sections along his abdomen. Jagged, unclean cuts. The elaborate notes suggested that the murders—Noah and his father—could have been linked, but never confirmed.

Noah’s murder happened the night of our gala, meaning Sutton had an alibi. Many alibis, actually. It was all in the files, including the twenty people they’d questioned to prove she was there all night. And she was there, because that was the night I’d met her. I’d begun watching her two weeks later after coming back from tracking down a Russian.

I leaned back with a sigh, rubbing my jaw.

Maybe Sutton knew the assailant instead, because I couldn’t mentally place her at the crime scene. Even if there was something dark and volatile beneath her innocence, a part of me knew she didn’t murder her boyfriend.

But if she did know the murderer, then maybe I didn’t know her as well as I thought I did. So whose secret was she keeping if it wasn’t her own?
