Raxius seemed to be in a similar position, but it was possible he was more confused since he was used to working with his hands. This seemed to be a discussion issue, at least to start, but that also left me with questions about what would follow.
The people of Earth had an extensive variety of options when it came to submissive needs.
When the silence finally stretched out too long, Raxius spoke. “Can you show us the finger that means you are able and willing to continue?”
Shiloh’s breath was mostly even but I felt relief from him as one finger quickly came up.
“That’s correct.” Remembering his reactions, I reached up to stroke his back. “Good boy.”
His face flushed and his eyes dropped to the floor in front of us, but there was pleasure coming through our still new bond. Instead of being silent and still, his face heated and he waved his finger around.
He was waving green?
Did the human stoplights the system was based on wave?
“You like being our good boy, don’t you?” Raxius proved helpful with his physical knowledge because Shiloh’s head jerked in the human nod movement. “You were a very good boy when you answered our questions and did your best to respond to Agent Murphy and Klynn.”
Ah.
Waving meant an increasingly positive form of green.
“You were also a very good influence on two very cranky individuals.” My attempt at human humor got a giggle from our mate. “I do not know what magic you performed but I approve.”
Raxius gave Shiloh a long sigh and even shook his head. “Klynn and I have much in common when it comes to how we view others.”
“I think that is what the people who speak English say is an understatement.” They had many good words…good words that made my mate make more happy sounds. “I do not think you have some things in common, however.”
Shiloh was still pink, but he glanced over at Raxius in clear curiosity. He had understood my subtle attempt to put the topic of Domination out between us. Our difficult mate was quiet at first but shrugged after a moment. “I do not understand how I am cranky and not submissive and he is cranky and submissive.”
Shiloh’s face was so red I worried about his health but he made a tiny laugh before he shrugged back at his grumpy mate. “It’s…”
Taking a moment, he tried again. “It’s not connected.”
“I wonder which traits are connected.” It was a legitimate line of inquiry and needed more research but both my mates looked at me with wide eyes. “Do not worry. This will take me time to come back to.”
I had much to research before I could examine the idea.
“That does not make me less worried.” Raxius rolled his eyes like a person from Earth. “Your growing list of topics to research should concern anyone.”
I performed the Earth huff and focused on our giggly mate. “He will learn to appreciate my ability to research.”
As Shiloh tried to decide what to say, Raxius let out another long sigh. “That feels like a threat.”
“Some mates are more interesting than others.” I managed to sound like a cheerful human which made the situation even funnier to our Earth mate. “I have heard from several Earthlings that being smart makes me more interesting as well.”
I did not understand why that was so funny to Shiloh, and neither did Raxius judging by his expression, but all that mattered was how happy our Earth mate felt. His positive emotions seemed to make him more confident in his ability to speak, as well. “I like how interesting you are.”
“See?” I gave a pleased expression to Raxius, one that made him grumble low, and stood straighter. “Our mate likes me.”
After a few seconds, he huffed. “I cannot give my thoughts without potentially insulting our mate.”
Yes.
Shiloh giggled again before trying to stop smiling and look what I thought was innocent. “Both my mates know I’m always right on these kinds of things, so we’re not going to think about it too much.”
“I think extensively, so I am not sure that rule is possible to follow.” My seriously delivered teasing had more happy feelings coming through our bond, but Raxius had to do what the Earth people called one-upping me.
“I suspect he has a severe inability to follow all rules he does not like.” Crossing his arms over his chest like a male from Earth, Raxius raised one eyebrow. “Consequences should be given for not following rules.”
