Her smile turns wicked. “Not even a little bit. Unfortunately, they do always seem to find me quicker than I would like. I’m getting better at hiding though.”
“I love that,” I chuckle. “It’s brilliant. Maybe I should try it with my men?”
“Don’t even think about it, Sweetheart,” Trick says, making me jump because I didn’t hear him approach.
I open my mouth to argue with him when I catch the expression on his face. The heated look in his eyes tells me that I would be in for a very special kind of punishment if I were to hide from them, and now I’m going to make sure that we play the game.
Although not for a while, since we played a very real game of find the missing Ever, and I don’t want to worry them or experience that for a while. It will definitely be a summer thing. Also, knowing that they’re coming to get me immediately takes any lingering unease or fear away.
I’ll give them a heads-up before I decide that we’re playing hide and seek.
Naked edition.
“What are you thinking about?” Trick asks me, his eyes narrowed slightly as he studies my expression.
“Naked hide and seek,” I say simply, not really thinking it through before I blurt it out.
Zemi bursts out laughing. “Oh, that would make it far more fun.”
I nod and grin, “Right!”
Trick shakes his head, a smile playing along the edges of his lips. “Just give us a heads up first. You go missing for real far too often.”
His words echo my thoughts almost exactly, and I smile. “I know, and I would, don’t worry. Oh, I could tell you by sending you guys a naked picture of me, and you have to find me!”
“That’s a brilliant idea,” Zemi says immediately. “I’m going to steal that in case I ever need it.”
My smile widens, and then, changing the subject, I look back at Trick, who is giving me that look that he usually gives me before I end up being naked and saying yes sir. In other words, my favorite kind of look.
“Did you need something?”
“No, I was just coming to check on you and see if your head is okay?” He replies, his expression switching from turned on and slightly amused to concerned.
“I’m good. My head doesn’t hurt at all. Zemi was just showing me around. Do you want to join us?” I ask.
“Sure,” Trick replies. He looks at Zemi. “Is that okay?”
“Of course it is,” she replies, and starts walking again. “What are the others up to?”
“I think they’ve headed up to see what the guys are doing on the roof,” Trick replies. “Raiden’s doing awesomely well considering it’s not been too long since he got out of the cast.”
“Yeah, he’s healed really well,” Zemi replies. “I’ll show you around down here, and then we can go up and meet them. The view is incredible from up there. You’re not scared of heights, are you?” She asks, and I shake my head. She grins and carries on talking as she opens doors to what looks like a cinema room. She mutters, “Hopefully, I’ll find my phone while we look around.”
“Huh? You let us in?” I ask.
She nods. “Yeah, and then I got so excited that you were here that I put my phone down somewhere, and I have no idea where the fuck I put it.”
“That sounds about right,” Trick mutters, giving me a knowing look. I stick my tongue out at him.
“I’m hoping that it's still on the roof. That’s where I think I had it last,” Zemi says, looking incredibly unsure about it. This house is so big that there’s a very real chance that she’s never going to see it again. Unless she hears it ringing. She shrugs. “Anyway, this is the cinema room. It’s awesome for movie nights. Although, to be honest, we watch more TV shows in here than we do movies.”
“Nice,” I compliment. It looks similar to the one that Cash has at his place, but this one is bigger. We could all comfortably fit in here for a movie night.
We spend a while looking around the house, and it’s absolutely huge. I know I keep saying that, but it’s because every single time I think that it can’t possibly get any bigger, it does.
Eventually we make it up to the roof, and she was right. The view from up here is absolutely stunning, nothing but trees for as far as the eye can see. I bet it looks even more stunning in the middle of winter, covered in snow.
Zemi didn’t find her phone on the roof, and none of the guys knew what she had done with it. She didn’t seem that bothered in the slightest though, and after a brief search of the roof, she didn’t bother to carry on looking for it and simply said that it would turn up at some point.
