We all head inside.

The place looks absolutely amazing. The guys have done an awesome job, and we all say hello to everyone as we collectively head toward the drinks table, which makes my men smirk. I’ve been messaging them updates all day, and they know exactly what it’s been like.

After that, we disperse through the people, and I get some much-needed cuddles from my men while we talk to everyone else.

We’re sitting in the extension, talking about the Hunt case, when Jynx looks at Zemi. She’s been quiet for a while now, so something is obviously playing on her mind.

“Zemi, could I speak to you for a moment?” Jynx asks.

“Yeah, of course,” Zemi agrees happily.

I watch as they head out of the room, Zemi’s men getting up and following her.

“Huh, I wonder what that’s about?” Jensen says curiously from beside me.

I shrug, “I’ve got no idea.”

We make the rounds again, checking in on everyone, making sure that everyone has got everything that they need, and I am becoming increasingly aware that we’re getting close to the time when Pete and the others are going to have to leave to get some rest before they head out in a few hours.

Pete hooks his arm through mine and rests his head on the top of mine as we listen to D, Ryan, and Alaric tell another one of their hilarious stories. Liam’s involved with this one too, and it adds yet another dimension to him. It makes me wonder if Liam was involved with the other stories that they’ve told us in the past, and they chose to leave him out of them. Atlas is listening to all of this with an entirely new perspective, and it wouldn’t surprise me if D and the guys have done it on purpose.

Atlas will talk to Liam when he’s ready, and he’s got the perfect excuse to wait since Liam is going to need to lay low for a while.

Although Alaric seems to be quite content with letting Liam go, Mr. R made a point of saying that he is still wanted and that they are still looking for him. Although it’s pretty clear to everyone that he’s not putting as much effort into it as he could, just like Alaric.

If Liam is smart, then he will behave himself for the foreseeable future until he is nothing but a vague memory.

That’s what I would do.

Excusing myself, I head to the bathroom. When the main one is occupied, I decide to head to the garage and use the one there. I could use the one in my room, but the garage is closer, and I really need to pee.

I have to admit that walking into the quieter half of the house is actually a relief, until I hear talking in Trick’s office as I walk past the door, and then it just becomes intriguing.

I pause, my need to pee momentarily forgotten.

“This is getting ridiculous,” Zemi says, sounding exasperated.

“Agreed,” Jynx replies.

My eyebrows rise in surprise.

Movement out of the corner of my eye catches my attention, and I turn to see Luc striding toward me. He opens his mouth, and I shake my head, holding my finger to my lips.

He frowns but listens as he comes to stand next to me. I know that I shouldn’t be listening, but something is stopping me from walking away.

Curiosity and nosiness.

“Mr. R needs to bring them in now. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that they need to be brought in,” Raid says.

Luc’s eyebrows rise, and he mouths, “Us?”

I shrug.

“I don’t know why he’s taken this long. They are the only team that not only tolerates us but likes us,” Saint adds. “I consider Trick and the others some of my closest friends, and I’m not just saying that.”

“We all do,” Wilder agrees. “But it’s complicated. We know that.”

“It’s not as complicated as Mr. R is making it out to be,” Jynx replies, sounding even more exasperated than Zemi did.
