They did. After the deal with Axel and Slater was made, the former president of Satan’s provided it to Ace. Cypher was still working on more intel, but as of now, it wasn’t looking good for Killcreek. Nestor Calloway was high along the criminal chain. They’d need an in to get direct information. And they didn’t have it.

“Why are you asking, Oz?” Ace taunted.

“A meeting with Calloway? The club can’t facilitate that on their own. Neither can Inez, though she has tried. Put in a few calls, but she’s made a lot of enemies over the years. Calloway being one of them.”

It didn’t come as a surprise Inez would try to make it happen behind the scenes. That was the thing about Inez. She took care of her boys.

“Let me guess.” Ace scowled. “You’ll make that happen if we take the deal for Ghosttown?”

“I’ll personally set up the meeting with Calloway.”

It was exactly what Jekyll wanted.

“We’d have to take a vote on it.” Ace smirked. “No Kings in this club.”

Oz spread his arms. “Well, by all means, vote. Because this offer is off the table the minute you walk out the door.”

Fuck.

Oz was forcing their hand, and there wasn’t anything they could do about it.

Ace leaned forward, rested his elbows on the table, and turned back to look at the brothers. One in particular. This member had to be the first to agree. None of them, including Jekyll, would take the Ghosttown deal without his approval.

“Any objections to taking the deal?” Ace asked, but his gaze remained on one member.

Jekyll lowered his head, glancing over. The brother was staring back at him. A meeting with Calloway had nothing to do with the club. It was for Imogene. And he didn’t owe her anything.

“I don’t have any,” he said.

It was followed by every member agreeing to the deal. They’d get paid, half the product returned, which was essentially another income, and he’d get the truth. And so would Imogene.

“I’ll set it up. The terms are non-negotiable. Understand?” Oz asked.

“Yeah.” Ace stood.

Jekyll wasn’t sure how he felt about the Ghosttown deal. With Killcreek in control, they’d have the upper hand, and it would get done right. The payout was good, but it would come at a cost. They just didn’t know how high of a price they’d have to pay. Only time would tell.

As they walked out, Jekyll stayed back, slowing his steps until Cross sidled up next to him.

“Oz’s terms, non-negotiable.” Cross sighed. “Be prepared for shit you don’t like.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“Alright,” Cross said and veered toward his bike.

“Cross.”

He glanced over his shoulder and stopped when Jekyll caught up to him.

“Make sure he’s good with this.” Names were unnecessary. Cross knew exactly who Jekyll was talking about. This was about to get intensely personal for one of their own. While Jekyll appreciated the solidarity, and meeting with Calloway was imperative for Imogene, he didn’t want to sacrifice a brother for it.

“This isn’t club business.” Jekyll drew in a breath. “It’s for Imogene.”

“And you.” Cross grasped his shoulder in a tight squeeze. “I’ll talk to him. But Jek? You’re his family, not them.”

Jekyll snorted. “DNA would say different.”

Cross shrugged. “He wouldn’t.”
