“No.”

Cue had made his decision.

“Alright, hold on. I might have something,” Ghost said and walked to his bike, bending down to his saddlebags. Jekyll took the time to glare at Cue. This plan was a clusterfuck and would have consequences. Ace, Cross, and the rest of the members weren’t going to back his half-cocked and completely reckless decision.

Ghost walked back over with an empty backpack. He shook it out and unfolded the straps.

“You can wear it across your chest. That way if he gets scared and tries to escape, you can at least keep him from jumping out.”

It wasn’t the best plan, but they didn’t have many options. Ghost held the opening wide, and she slipped the dog inside, then put her arms through her straps.

“That work?” Ghost asked.

She nodded, though it wasn’t convincing. He couldn’t fault her. It wasn’t the safest way to transport the dog for a few hours on the bike. But it was the only option they had. Jekyll mounted his motorcycle and started up the engine.

They were just waiting on Eden. She slowly walked next to Cue. When he grabbed her arm, she flinched and froze.

“Turn around.” His voice was much softer than before.

Eden’s tension was visible but she followed his order. Cue adjusted the straps of the backpack, tightening them.

“Now get on.”

Eden straddled the bike and cradled the backpack against her chest. Cue turned slightly.

“You gotta hold on.”

“I want to make sure he doesn’t try to jump out.”

“Yeah, well that’s not gonna matter if you fall off the bike. Give me at least one hand. Not going anywhere until you do.”

Eden reached her arm around his stomach. Jekyll noticed Cue stiffen, but he started his engine and seconds later, they were rolling out of the Satan’s driveway. They’d have a few hours reprieve before arriving home to face the next battle round with the club.

What a fucking shitshow!

“What the fuck were you thinking?”

This was exactly the response Jekyll had expected from his vice-president.

“Fuck, Cue,” Ace snapped, narrowing his gaze. “I rely on you to be one of the level-headed brothers out of this bunch of assholes. This is Oak and Gent shit, not you!”

“Why the fuck am I being brought up. I wasn’t even there.” Gent laughed but Ace ignored him.

Even Jekyll could admit this was completely out of character for Cue. He was one of the more reserved brothers. He didn’t make moves without being given an order. He didn’t take risky chances.

Ace paced around the room. Jekyll stood near the wall with Ghost and Oak just watching. They’d get their own reprimand for allowing it to happen, but not until Ace was done with Cue. By the intense irritation rolling off him in waves, it was going to be a while.

Ace stalked toward Cue, stopping a foot away. His face was red and the vein in his forehead was visible. Jekyll had seen his president angry before but not to this level.

“With everything we got going on with Satan’s, this is the shit you pull?”

It definitely complicated things. Jekyll doubted it would directly affect the deal with Satan’s. Griggs was too greedy to pass it up, and he’d have to answer to the person backing it. It was less than likely they’d back out. However, it shifted the whole dynamic. Killcreek was notorious for their control. It also zoned in on an obvious weak spot for a member. It was a strong rule they never showed where their vulnerabilities lay. Cue had completely exposed himself. And in a sense, Killcreek.

“I was supposed to just fucking leave her there?” Cue spread his arms and looked over at Cross.

The vice-president’s gaze darkened. “Was she in any immediate danger, Cue?”
