“There’s nothing for you but time,” Toran said matter-of-factly. “The bullet wound on your arm may leave a small scar but the rest of your injuries should heal without complication. Do you need anything?”
“Water, please.”
He wanted desperately to wash the taste of blood and bile from his mouth.
Wordlessly, Toran poured him a cup. He had to help him roll to his side so he could even drink it. He spilled some and it stung his split lip.
He watched in mute terror as Toran began to undress. His enormous muscles seemed far less attractive and far more menacing now that Jesse was alone with him, naked in his bed. The corded muscles in his hands and arms bespoke of power that could kill a man in one blow. His thighs were like tree trunks and his cock like a snub-nosed python swaying in between. It was massive, the full length of Jesse’s forearm and the thickness of both his slender wrists combined.
Jesse began to sob again. His knees and elbows drew in and his heels pushed against the bed until his back hit the wall.
“Please, please...d-don’t.”
“Lay down and face the wall,” Toran commanded.
Jesse did he was told. His eyes were wide and unseeing as he stared at the shadows moving on the wall. He managed to control his tears, but his entire body quaked in fear as Toran lay down behind him. The bed creaked beneath his weight and Jesse grabbed hold of the mattress to prevent himself from slipping any closer to Toran. It ended up being a moot point as Toran slung a massive arm around him and pulled him in tight against his chest. It made his ribs ache.
The proximity was intimidating. His arm was enormous, easily as big around as Jesse’s waist, heavy and inescapable as an iron shackle. There would be no escape and no one coming to save him. He took one shuddering breath after another once his body finally forced him to start inhaling and exhaling again. His heart was pounding so hard he felt certain Toran could probably feel it.
Finally the other man spoke, “I won’t touch you tonight. Nothing will be expected until you have healed.”
Relief washed over him and his tense muscles uncoiled. “Thank you,” he said quietly, well aware that Toran didn’t have to wait.
“Do you understand what has happened?”
“I...belong to you now.”
“Yes. You submitted yourself to me and to my protection. I will provide for you and keep you safe. You, in turn, will obey me and serve me. As far as I am concerned, it is a binding contract. Do you understand?”
“Yes.”
There was a long silence as Jesse let that sink in.
“I’m your wife now.”
“Until death do we part,” Toran said darkly.
They were old words, repeated so many times they meant almost nothing now, so Jesse said nothing in return. He wondered if the other man said it to purposely terrify him. He squeezed his eyes shut then and let the darkness fill his vision.
Toran lifted the weight of his arm off Jesse’s side and covered them both with a thick blanket. His hand returned to rest possessively on the boy’s naked hip. Jesse was acutely aware of every point of contact between their bodies but most especially the way his back rested against Toran’s muscular chest. He could hear the large man’s heart, heavy and slow, reverberating in his own chest. He lay quietly, listening to the unchanging rhythm. Despite everything, it was comforting.
Chapter 6
Life was little more than a series of choices. Small or large, each individual choice led to another series of choices and on and on and on. One’s entire life could be shaped by a single individual choice because it determined the next set of choices and the ones after that and the ones after that.
Toran was pleased with this particular choice. He had made mistakes before, as everyone does. But the mistakes he had made over his lifetime were all because he had made decisions without having all of the facts. Without having enough information, one could make a decision they would come to later regret once they knew more. That was why he had to do what he did- to guide his little bird, to help him gather all the facts so he could make a wise decision.
It wasn’t coercion. It was...education.
He had taken him down into the mine to show him the fruitlessness of his own labor and the weakness of his tiny body. By contrast, Toran had also proven what a good provider he was. Jesse would never lack for anything. He had taken him into the shower and left him to the dogs because it was the only way to prove to Jesse how dangerous the prison was and how much he needed Toran’s protection. And thus, Toran had proven what a good protector he was. Then finally, when Jesse understood his situation completely, he had made the right decision. Toran refused to feel ashamed for letting his beloved be attacked in the shower. It had been necessary to bring the boy into his hand.
The beautiful boy was his now, sleeping in his bed, locked in his cabin. He had no clothes to call his own, not even a shackle with which to store credits of his own. Jesse was his wife now, dependent on him for everything. He belonged to him. Toran should have felt happy.
And yet, for some reason, his heart throbbed with guilt with each tiny whimper Jesse involuntarily let out. Once the boy had fallen asleep, he had stayed asleep, but he had been plagued by nightmares. More than once, Toran had to hold him still as he thrashed and had to wipe the tears from his eyes when he cried. That Jesse was in pain was obvious from the way he moaned in his sleep.
He wished he could take it away. He wished it had never had to happen. If only Jesse hadn’t been so stubborn...but then, it was his spirit that had attracted Toran in the first place. That, and his exquisite beauty.
He was so delicately lovely with his plump pink lips and his wide-lashed baby blue eyes. He had long legs, a tiny waist, a full bottom and even a pair of fat coral-tipped nipples that begged to be sucked on. Such creamy skin. Jesse was as close to a woman as any of the prisoners had seen in years. He had to be protected.
