“Babe, are you serious? Do you think pillows are going to keep you from jumping my bones again?”
For a moment, I think she’s going to keep pretending she’s asleep. I should’ve known better. Jess is never one to back down.
She flips over, and her eyes shoot daggers at me. “I told you, stop calling me babe. I’m not your babe or your sweetie or your honey or any other endearment. And me? Jump on you? You’re the one who wanted to play strip poker.”
I sweep my bangs off my face and smile smugly at her. “I know. Brilliant, wasn’t it? It allowed us to skip all that b.s. and get us both right to where we wanted to be. In bed. Together. There’s no use denying it. We’re good together.”
The lack of a response from the other side of the pillow wall doesn’t bother me a bit. She likes to overthink things, and I have no doubt her mind is busy replaying everything that’s happened in the last several hours.
My mind is also busy replaying everything that happened in the last hour. I knew sex with her would be good. I had no idea how good.
I hear her flip back onto her side. She probably thinks she’s going to try and sleep, as though that’s even a remote possibility.
“Are you ready to admit you enjoyed yourself and we’re good together?” I ask into the quiet of the room.
Jess sits up in bed, a disgruntled look on her face.
“No, I’m not ready to admit it. The only reason your ploy worked is because I allowed it to work. I was horny, and now I’m not. So, if you’ll be quiet and let me get some sleep, that would be fantastic,” she says in a prissy tone. “And stay on your side of the bed, or you’ll be kicked to the floor.”
She’s so worked up her eyes are flashing fire.
“What I’m hearing is that you’re ready to go at it again?” I ask innocently. “You’re insatiable. And I’m totally okay with that.”
She picks up the pillow and throws it at my head. Laughing, I dodge it easily. So she picks up another. This time, she doesn’t throw it but swings it at my face.
Target acquired. The pillow smacks me right on the side of my head.
I grab it from her, and she tries to fight me for it. Now, we’re both tugging on the pillow, and I’m laughing, and she’s not laughing at all. She’s looking at me as though she’d like nothing better than to pop me in the face. I yank the pillow from her and toss it on the bed.
She grabs the last pillow from in between us and tries to launch it at me, but this time she uses her entire body to throw the pillow at me. Pillow and body fall on top of me, and the surprise attack knocks me backward onto the bed.
My head lands in a cloud of pillows behind my back. I’m lying flat on the bed, and she’s on top of me, straddling me. Her breasts are heaving beneath the silk pajama top as she looks down at me. She puts her hands against my chest.
I feel her warm breath against my cheek as she leans in toward me. “Why do you have to piss me off, Dax?”
“Because I want you to loosen up. Think of the fun we could have. No ties, no regrets. Just a few weeks of unadulterated sexual bliss.”
“You sure have a high opinion of your sexual prowess,” she says with a raised brow. “And what happens at the end of our little trip? We both go on our happy but separate ways?”
A heavy weight settles in my chest at her question. I don’t understand it, but thinking about us being apart causes me to feel anxious and unsettled. I don’t like the feeling at all.
“Maybe. I mean, I don’t know,” I admit. “Who knows what will happen in the future?”
She leans back, still straddling me. Her eyes narrow. “I don’t just go to bed with anyone. This isn’t like me, Dax. I’m not the kind of girl who does this type of thing.”
“Believe it or not, I don’t do this type of thing either. Why do we have to overthink it?” The desperation I hear in my voice makes me wince.
“Are you listening to me? I don’t do casual affairs.”
I’m trying like hell to listen to her, but I’m naked beneath the sheets, and she’s sitting right on top of my cock. My body is already responding to having her weight sit on top of me, no matter how much I try to ignore it. Each time she leans forward a little or leans back a little, the movement causes sensations that make certain body parts start to come to attention. So much for needing thirty minutes to recharge.
I put my hands firmly on her hips to try and stop her from moving. If I’m going to have a rational conversation with her, she either needs to sit still or get off me.
And I’m in no hurry for her to get off me.
I muster all of my boyish charm and smile up at her. “Don’t knock it until you try it. That’s my motto. Well, it’s my new motto as of today.”
My fingers silently make their way from her hips to the bottom button on her silk top. I slip the button through and then move to the next.
