I can’t believe he finally said yes.
My fantasy about this man is within reach and I’m so here for it.
“Where are we going?” I ask as I follow him out of the club.
“Your place.”
I scrunch my nose. “Ehm, no. I have three roommates and a mattress on the floor. How about your place?”
“Hotel,” he grunts, motioning towards a black van.
“Oh shit. You don’t have a wife and kids at home, do you? Not that it would stop me from riding your dick, but it’s good to know.”
He glances over his shoulder then shakes his head. “No, I’m not married with kids. I live with all my nosy brothers.”
“I get it, man. This city is expensive. Roommates are the only way I could afford anything decent.”
“They aren’t roommates. We live—you know what, never mind.” Whisper opens the passenger door for me, standing to the side, his eyes taking me in from head to toe.
“Dig the serial killer vibes.”
“What?”
“The van. Want some candy, little boy? Yeah, I do.”
Whisper sputters a laugh as he closes the door behind me and walks around to get in on the driver’s side. I watch him start the van, glancing behind me at what looks like some electronic equipment beyond a slightly parted curtain.
Leaning over, I peek into the back, confirming what I saw. A few laptops, some tablets, and monitors. Surveillance.
I bristle. “Are you a cop or something?”
He scoffs. “No.”
“Okay, good. I don’t fuck with cops even if they’re hot.”
Whisper grins but keeps his eyes on the road.
“Tell me about yourself.”
He glances at me briefly. “What do you want to know?”
“Where are you from?”
“Here. Basically. Lived here since I was a kid.”
“Parents?”
“I had them, yes.”
I raise an eyebrow. “Strong, silent type. I can work with that. I was born here. Well, in Crestvale. Posh life until my dad found the gay porn sites on my browser history. He’s a pastor.”
Whisper glances at me again. “What happened?”
“He gave me an ultimatum. Conversion therapy or I could leave his house. I chose option two.”
His jaw ticks. “How old were you?”
“Fifteen.”
