She laughed and cupped his cheek. “I am a human. I do. But there are other ways we can enjoy ourselves without you breaking me.” Her hand drifted down his chest.
Solan butted her cheek with his forehead. “I have another idea.”
“What are you doing?”
“Scenting you.”
“What?” Vegas yelped as Solan flipped her onto her back. His face slid across her stomach.
“We are joined. Everyone must know.”
“They will. I’m not going to hide the fact you are mine.”
“From your scent. Others will smell my musk on you.”
“Oh! Your sexy smell.” Vegas had forgotten Galaxars scent marked their territory. She grinned. He was claiming her in every possible way.
“You like my smell?” He paused from rubbing his cheek on her inner thigh.
“I love it.” He could scent mark her all day if he wanted to.
The alert on Vegas’s door signaled someone was outside. It rang three times before she reluctantly dragged herself out from under Solan. “You stay right there.”
Wrapping a robe around herself, Vegas hurried to the door, smoothing her hair down as she did so. She didn’t want to look liked she’d been fucked almost senseless by a hot alien until she knew who was on the other side of the door. When it slid open, Diadora stood outside, a scowl on her face.
Her gaze ran over Vegas. Diadora took a step back as if the sight of her repulsed her. “I see you have been... resting.”
Vegas tilted her chin. She would not be embarrassed about what she was doing. “I suppose you’re here to tell me I’m being suspended or fired?”
“Perhaps you’ve forgotten my words when I was dealing with our unwanted Galaxar,” Diadora said.
“I still have a job?”
“You do providing you complete the report I requested on our little Galaxar incident. Although you don’t always meet the targets I set you, you try. And you know your way around My Single Alien.”
“Damn straight! I’m excellent at what I do. I’ve never let you down. I haven’t had a sick day since I got here. The matches I make are always good.”
Diadora’s lips twitched. “Your services are adequate, and My Single Alien has a favorable reputation with many races. Your name is sometimes mentioned.”
Vegas’s chest puffed up. That was as close as she would get in the way of a compliment from Diadora. She’d take it.
“I also loathe interviews and do not have the time to induct anyone else.”
Vegas nodded. There it was, the evil Diadora back in the corridor.
“I also have good news.”
“Boros left you the money he paid for me? We’re getting new staff and the repairs to the station?” It was too much to hope for.
Diadora gave an unladylike snort. “No, he demanded his money back. We’ll have to wait longer for more staff. Gravity will hold Prodigy together in the short-term, providing we have no more comet strikes.”
“Here’s hoping,” Vegas said. “So, what’s the news?”
“The My Single Alien contract has been renewed for five years. The Council of Representatives believes we have made excellent matches and are doing incredible work in the names of intergalactic cooperation.”
“Meaning that, because I’m getting humans and aliens to fall in love, we aren’t going to start a battle in the stars anytime soon?”
“Something like that.” Diadora waved a hand in the air. “There are rumors of an honorable mention at the next council gathering for services rendered.”
