“I don’t know. I’ll find him and figure it out. But for now we’re gonna have to speak with the cops,” I replied.
We worked tirelessly for months to put this night together. We had so much riding on this. There were celebrities and businessmen in the building. Now two of the people we paid to keep them safe were dead.
One of the robbers was still alive. He lifted his head when I walked over.
“Man, I need an ambulance.”
I crouched in front of him.
“I’ll call for an ambulance when you tell me what happened,” I said.
“What, man?” He looked at me. There was a gaping hole in his side.
“Who got you in here?”
“Come on. This shit hurts so bad!” he cried out. He was completely delusional if he thought I cared about how much pain he was in.
“I asked you who.”
He looked at Prime again.
“Man, can somebody help me?”
“Give me a name.”
“Will.”
I stayed crouched in front of him.
“What Will?”
“Big Will. Seymour. He gave us the layout. He and a nigga named Kyle paid us.”
We got played by the promoter. I thought we had vetted him but apparently we hadn’t done a good enough job.
The same muhfucka I congratulated on filling our venue had set us up. He got all these people in here to embarrass our name. When I found that fat nigga, I was going to roast his ass.
After I tried to make amends with Kira, she still decided to fuck up my business. This could ruin us.
And I got why she did it. I ruined her legacy so she and her brother tried to ruin mine. But see we’re the Banks. Our businesses have been through all kinds of ups and downs but we’ve always bounced back.
Even this explosion. It’ll take time but we can bounce back from this. But she and her brother were not going to survive.
I stood up before I did something that would keep that man from answering anybody else.
“Watch him,” I told Prime.
Bryce’s eyes were still on the guard behind the table. He looked like he was waiting for the young man to get up and tell him he was okay.
I stepped beside him and put my hand on the back of his neck.
His shoulders went stiff beneath my palm.
“You did good, lil bro.”
He looked at me.
“I lost two.”
