I am starving for his attention, for his body, his companionship, and for finding anything that could bind us together.

His hands wrap around the back of my neck, fingers tangling in my hair, pulling me against his body. I groan, sliding my arms around his lower back, pulling him closer, tasting him.

His hips press against mine, trapping me against the edge of the shelf, and his tongue glides against mine, hungry and possessive, making my knees go weak.

“Knox…” I sink into him, moaning as his thumb presses against my jaw, tilting my face to deepen the kiss until I can barely breathe.

Suddenly, Knox stiffens.

He breaks the kiss, his chest heaving.

“What’s wrong—” I ask, but he covers my mouth with his palm while double-tapping his ear comm with his other hand.

“Back storage room. There’s a guard outside,” Knox says.

He double-taps his ear again, drops his hand from my mouth, and immediately cups my face with both hands, pulling me back in for an even deeper, more frantic kiss.

The rush is intoxicating.

He’s devouring me, taking every drop of pleasure he can squeeze out of the moment before whoever called for him can interrupt us.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Knox breaks away, panting. He moves his thumb, wiping my lower lip, and just like that, I want to kiss him again.

But he turns around, walks to the entrance, and opens the door.

Standing on the other side is the Korean man.

My temper flares instantly, and I am about to lose my shit when Knox turns his head and grins.

“Cillian, meet Jeong Tae. The sixth Harknett. Tae, meet the psycho little Prince.”

I freeze.

What?

Jeong Tae lifts his hand to offer a handshake, and right there on the back of his hand is the unmistakable black and pastel pink infinity symbol.

“You’re…” I stammer, my brain struggling to catch up.

“Harknett’s medic,” Tae says, his voice surprisingly soft. “I was out on medical leave, but I’m back now. Whatever you need, you can call me.”

My cheeks burn with embarrassment as I realize how completely wrong I was.

Oh, my God…

I accused Knox of sleeping with one of his Harknett brothers.

I even confessed to being jealous!

Oh, fuck…

I clear my throat and shake his hand awkwardly. “Cillian, nice to finally meet you.”

“Tae, can you go get Alistair and the rest? We should leave soon.” Knox asks, and Tae nods before walking away.

Once gone, Knox smiles, looking at me.
