He’s tense, his jaw clenching so hard a muscle twitches, but his eyes… His eyes tell me my little show worked wonders.

“Why do you look so stressed?” I tease, stepping closer. “Have you been having trouble sleeping lately?”

I tug the shirt from his hands and slide my arms through the sleeves. Stepping in closer, I press my front against his chest, tilting my head slightly so the exposed skin of my back is in his line of sight.

“I can’t reach it,” I whisper. “Can you help me with the zipper?”

“Step away, Cillian,” he warns, but he doesn’t budge.

His body is as stiff as his fucking personality.

“Come on, help me get dressed.” I slide my hands up from his waist, smoothing them over his chest.

“Step away, or this will be the first time I break a contract.”

“And how exactly would you break it?” I let my hands slip up to his neck, pulling him down as I press the entire length of my body against his. I lean in, whispering against his ear, “By fucking me?”

And hell, I wish his answer were yes.

Knox grabs my wrists, flips me around, slamming my front against the mirror and pinning my back with the full weight of his body.

His fingers fist into my hair, tugging until my head tilts back and his lips touch my ear. “By killing you.”

He holds me pinned against the wall, and a shiver of pleasure ripples down my spine as he grips the zipper and slides it up.

“I’ll wait outside,” he says.

With that, he releases me and steps out of the room, closing the door behind him.

Sweet baby Jesus…

Leo is wrong.

I’m not a sociopath…

I am one hundred percent a masochist, because wow!

It takes me a few extra minutes to regain my composure because, frankly, I’m conflicted.

It was hilarious to torture the man and watch him snap, but in my brilliant plan, I never accounted for one tiny detail: getting myself this turned on.

Holy hell, his body felt good.

No, no…

Shut the hell up, Cillian.

It’s just the celibacy talking.

This is exactly why they say when your ex cheats on you, you need to jump on the horse... or whatever the hell that saying is.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

“Cil… you okay?”

I pull the door open to find Leo looking worried. And that is the thing I hate most about this entire freaking stalker situation.

Ever since those letters started arriving, my great-uncle, Leo, and the rest of the staff have looked at me like I’m going to disappear or die at any second.
