The stalker is Julian…
And I unknowingly locked Cillian in a room with the man who has hunted him for over a decade.
CHAPTER 23
CILLIAN
I pace the suite, over and over again.
And yeah, I’m probably driving my friends crazy with all this moving, but I can’t stop.
I’m consumed by the growing restlessness in my chest.
It’s suffocating me.
It is as if my mind isn’t here… It’s out there in whatever danger Knox could be in.
I know I shouldn’t worry this much because Knox eats bullets for breakfast, and he probably learned how to jab someone before learning how to crawl… but still, the thought of that psycho stalker putting him in any potential danger makes my stomach twist into knots.
So… it’s official.
I love that man.
I love him, and I can’t do a thing to keep him safe.
Great…
Fucking annoying that I have to stay here locked up while he’s walking into who-knows-what for me.
Nope… don’t go there.
He is a professional, Cillian.
He is okay.
I sit on my bed and look around the room. Julian is on his phone while Finnian and Leo are talking.
“Nae worries, Leo,” Finnian says, patting Leo’s back. “The Harknetts have a knack for making sure everything goes to plan.”
“Worried? Are you kidding?” Leo scoffs. “This is my fantasy, Finni. Well, the Harknetts are all naked in my fantasy, but I guess surveilling me works just fine.”
Finnian bursts out laughing. “You’re an odd one, Leo.”
Well, at least someone is having a good time.
To distract my brain from screaming or making me more nervous than I already am, I pull out my phone and tap into my messages to text Arthur about what’s been going on.
Hopefully we don’t have to push the auction for later.
And I swear I intend to text my uncle, but I see Alexios’s text first.
It says “Attached File.”
Oh, right…
I tap it open, and a ridiculous number of pictures of Aurelio fucking or getting fucked appear.
Jesus Christ!
