I grab the dickhead’s arm and carry him to a bench, making it look like he passed out drunk.
Okay.
It looks pretty believable if you ask me.
I poke his shoulder, and he stays slouched in the same position.
Perfect.
“I apologize in advance, sir, because thanks to me, you’ll now meet the most ruthless and violent Harknett there is…” I pat his back and double-tap my ear comm. “Tae, can you come to section twelve, eastern side? I’ll meet you down the path.”
Sure, I am an asshole, but I am a responsible asshole.
“On my way,” Tae answers over the comms, and I walk toward the meeting point.
I’m about halfway down the stone path when I spot Tae walking in my direction.
“Are you hurt?” he asks as soon as he sees me.
“No, but can you go check on the unconscious guest sitting behind that bush?”
Tae glances at me, narrowing his eyes. “Did you do it?”
“Yeah.”
“Intentionally?”
“Very intentionally… though even Law will understand why.”
Tae’s eyes go wide. “Wow… did he ask for your number?”
“He offered me a million bucks to fuck him every day for a week.”
Tae stays silent for three seconds… then he throws his head back and bursts out laughing. “How is he not dead?”
“Because apparently, it is frowned upon to kill the guests.”
“Are you okay?” Tae asks, worried that this might have touched close to home.
After all, that is how everything started with my mother’s death.
A man wanting to pay for her body.
“I’m okay, just tired of all these people who think people are for sale,” I exhale, rubbing the back of my neck. “It’s disgusting how that fucking rich brat expected that I would sleep with him just because he’s rich, without giving a single fuck about what I wanted.”
“I’m sorry, Knox,” Tae says, patting my back awkwardly, clearly uncomfortable with the sign of affection but still showing his support. “At least all of this is almost over.”
“Yeah, almost… Take care of the rich asshole, will you?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll give him a penicillin shot. You know, he could have an infection or something,” Tae says, and I burst out laughing.
Oh, man…
You little sadist demon.
Those injections hurt like hell, and for days.
Feeling happier, I turn and walk away, heading toward the entrance, completely unaware that Cillian had stepped out onto the adjoining terrace just in time to hear the worst part of our conversation.
