I shouldn’t think like that.

It was already a problem when my body betrayed me, and I started touching myself to the thought of him—every night, might I add—but now my heart is in it too?

This is so wrong.

This is not okay.

I am not okay.

I switched Eliza to be paired with Helene and Jean with Louis on Wednesday, and I felt relief at not seeing Eliza plastered against Louis again.

I should have started freaking out then.

It took me another three days.

It took me another three days and spending thirty minutes in front of my wardrobe trying to decide what to wear to go to detention to finally start freaking out.

That, and finding Louis endearing for finding ways to see me even if that meant detention.

I look at myself in the mirror.

I’m wearing a dark green shirt that makes my eyes greener than usual and a black pencil skirt that looks like a second skin.

That’s not something I’d wear to class usually. It’s much sexier than what I usually allow myself.

Then why am I wearing it now when I’m supposed to leave for detention in about ten minutes?

I refuse to answer that question. It would bring up more spiraling, more freaking out, and more of me losing my mind.

There’s a knock on my door, and I don’t even question it. I click on my holo so the door unlocks.

“Just put the flowers on the table if you find room,” I say as I add some lip balm.

It’s a bit later than usual, but I was expecting another bouquet from Louis.

I’ve been expecting a bouquet every day since he started sending them to me.

My apartment is overflowing with flowers now, and I can’t remember what it looked like before Louis entered my life.

“You’re way too trusting,” a deep voice says from the entrance of my bedroom.

I jump and turn to face the threat, grabbing whatever is available under my hand.

“You’re not going to hurt anyone with this,” Louis says, a bouquet of flowers still in his hand as he hooks his hand to the top of the doorframe and leans against it.

“What are you doing here?” I ask as I look down at what I grabbed in my panic—a hair brush. True, I’m not going to do much damage with that.

“Delivering your flowers, obviously,” Louis says with a devastating smile. “Now tell me you opened the door because you knew it was me knocking.”

My smile in answer is anything but charming. I wince.

“Constance. What the fuck? Don’t you have any respect for your own safety?” he asks, and he’s stopped smiling completely. If anything, he looks downright pissed.

My smile is apologetic this time. To be honest, I don’t usually do that, but I can’t really tell him that my mind was busy thinking about seeing him again, and that’s why I didn’t check the video at the door.

“At least tell me you lock your door at night when you’re alone,” he adds with a sigh.

“I’m always alone,” I bite back, and that makes him chuckle.
