Davix’s eyes glowed gold. “Then you slept with my mate.” He shook his head. “Doesn’t matter.” But it did to him. I could tell. I could always tell with that asshole. “Have you contacted them yet, or do you not have that kinda power at Braveclaw?”
“I haven’t had time.”
“And why not?”
“Because I’ve been too busy trying to find her.”
“Well, asshole,” Davix started, “lead us to Braveclaw because you said it yourself—we can’t find her alone, and if the Crimson Order actually took her, then they’re the only people who can help us find her.”
A low snarl left my mouth because I didn’t want to get Braveclaw involved. This was my territory to oversee, and I wanted to find Ember before informing Braveclaw that I had lost the most important person to me on my own fucking territory.
But Davix was right.
This was the only way. The four of us couldn’t find her.
She might not even be in Black Hollows anymore.
“You can keep searching the forest,” I said, heading in the opposite direction. “You’re not coming with me.”
“Fuck that,” Davix said, following after me. “Hazel and whoever the fuck is with you will stay. I’m coming with you to find my girl.”
Chapter Forty-Six
Ember
“Let me out of here!” I cried, glaring at the door Red Eyes had left out of hours ago. Sweat poured down my body, forming a puddle at my feet. Yes, a goddamn puddle! I tugged on the silver chains with all my might. “Please, God. Please, let me out!”
My mouth was beyond dry, and my head … it was pounding.
I squeezed my eyes shut in an attempt to stop the pain radiating throughout my entire body, stars dancing in my vision. The door opened, and I peeled my eyes open to see him walk back into the room, his eyes harder than they had been the last time I saw him.
“Please, let me out,” I whimpered. “I can’t take this anymore.”
“I can’t do that.”
“You have to, please. Then you can do whatever you want with me.”
“Put her to sleep,” another man said from behind the door, his voice gruff. “We can do what we need to do with her, and we don’t have to worry about her going through heat. You won’t lose contr—”
Red Eyes snarled, louder and more menacing than anything that I had heard from Cade or Davix.
“Who else is here?” I asked, gripping the chains so tight that they burned my hands. “Please, someone let me out. It’s too hot. I can’t … I can’t handle this anymore.” Tears poured down my face. “Please.”
While I had initially been attracted to him, I was getting the vibe that I had yet another alphahole on my hands, and I could barely deal with one. Never mind three of them! Besides, what did he want with me?
He had kidnapped me.
He had stolen me.
He had bound me.
Was he an enemy? Was Cade looking for me? What about Davix?
Probably not that asshole. He didn’t give a fuck about me. I’d be trapped here for the rest of my life if I didn’t figure out a way to get out of here right this very second. But how could I? In this heat?
My eyes softened, and I pleaded. “Please.”
His jaw twitched. “No.”
