God, I need to calm myself right now!

Cade pointed beside him. “Come here. Now.”

Davix held out his arm, blocking me from walking toward him. “She’s staying.”

What the actual fuck is he on?! First, he told me to leave, then he locked me in his bedroom, then he told me to leave again, and now, apparently, I’m staying with him forever because he won’t let me go home?!

“You need some help with your bipolar ass,” I murmured quietly so only he’d hear it.

“Let her fucking go,” Cade growled.

While Cade had always been there to protect me, I had never seen him this protective over me. These men looked like they wanted to rip each other’s head off, and, God, it was turning me on, just imagining both of them taking me at once.

One fucking my pussy, the other my mouth. Both trying to prove they were better.

“Girl, control yourself!” Hazel whisper-yelled at me, her arm looping around mine. She tugged on my arm to pull me away, but my feet were planted on the ground. “I don’t think you want to see this.”

“Oh, yes, I do,” I murmured.

The gods had really said, Let’s give this girl the finale of a lifetime and pulled this storyline right from one of those cliché, overly dramatic werewolf romance books where the guys are all alpha and fight over their lover.

A giggle left my throat, and while this was definitely no laughing matter, I couldn’t stop.

It was nervous laughter, okay? Definitely nervous. Not anything else …

Davix stalked toward Cade this time, putting his hands on his chest to shove him away again, but Cade didn’t go anywhere. They stood chest to chest, eye to eye, glaring each other down, both with golden glints in their gazes. Even Cade’s.

“You think I want her here?!” Davix snarled. “She won’t leave me the fuck alone.”

Oh, lying is where I draw the line.

“I won’t leave you alone?!” I exclaimed, pulling my arm away from Hazel and stepping forward in the middle of the mayhem between Davix’s pack and Cade. “You locked me in your bedroom for hours!”

A ferocious growl left Cade’s throat, and he lunged forward. “You what?!”

Davix and Cade began hurling fists at each other, both landing brutal blunts to each other’s face, head, stomach, and liver. My eyes widened, and I willed myself to keep it cool. I had never seen anyone fight like this in real life.

Whispers erupted throughout the pack, and Hazel shifted from foot to foot. Ahead, Silas whistled lowly, his whole facial expression one of amusement. I looked around, unsure what everyone was whispering about.

Blood sprayed everywhere. Bones cracked. Wounds opened.

Once I finally stepped between the two, I shoved them apart with the little strength I had left after today’s hospital session, the sprint away from the rogue beast, and then my little bedroom mishap with Davix afterward.

“Stop acting like children!” I exclaimed.

Davix growled at Cade, “You should be thanking me.”

“Thanking you for kidnapping her?” Cade spat back. “You’re still fucking delusional.”

“If I hadn’t locked her in my packhouse, she would’ve wandered back into that forest and been taken—or claimed—by rogues,” Davix said, his wounds healing so quickly that I might’ve been somewhat jealous of it.

I wished mine did that.

“Rogues don’t claim humans,” Cade said.

A moment of tense silence passed, and then the pack started whispering even harder. I glanced back at Hazel, furrowing my brows, as if to ask what all the gossip was, but she shrugged her shoulders, despite a guilty look on her face.

Cade snatched my hand. “Ember, we’re leaving.”
