I reached for her hand and pulled her away from the counter. She came without resisting, her hands settling against my chest when my arm went around her waist.
I kissed her.
She kissed me back, slow at first, then deeper when her arms slid around my neck. By the time I pulled away, the refrigerator was still open behind us and neither one of us had figured out what we were eating.
Luna looked at me for a second, a small smile still on her face.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“That doesn’t look like nothing.”
“I’m happy.”
The answer was simple, but something about hearing her say it made me pull her closer again.
“Me too.”
She smiled and kissed me once more before slipping out of my arms.
“Now, can we eat?”
I looked at the open refrigerator. “You were the one going through my kitchen.”
“Because you have nothing.”
“I have food.”
“You have ingredients.”
“That you can cook.”
She closed the refrigerator and looked at me. “Why am I cooking?”
“You’re the one complaining.”
“I came over here as a guest.”
“A guest?”
“Yes.”
“You’ve been here all day.”
“And?”
“You went in my cabinet without asking.”
“I didn’t know there was a time limit on being a guest.”
I laughed and reached for my phone.
“What do you want?”
“To order something.”
“I figured that part out.”
