Luna’s head snapped toward me.
“What?”
“You brought this on yourself.”
“How?”
“You invited me.”
Renee laughed as she disappeared back inside.
Luna looked at me. “I don’t like how comfortable you’re getting.”
“I do.”
“I can tell.”
I pulled her a little closer.
Her smile faded into something softer as my hand settled at her waist.
“You gonna text me when you get home?” she asked.
“Yeah.”
“Okay.”
“And I’m gonna call you tomorrow.”
“I didn’t ask all that.”
“You were going to.”
Her eyes narrowed.
I smiled.
Then I kissed her.
She leaned into me easily, one hand resting against my chest as the kiss lingered a little longer than I intended.
A car door opened behind us.
“Daddy!”
I pulled back.
Luna laughed against my mouth.
“Your child is waiting.”
“She has terrible timing.”
“I heard you!” Mila called.
Of course she did.
I kissed Luna once more, quicker this time, before stepping back.
