“Luna.”

I laughed. “What?”

Tasha reached over and gave me a quick hug, catching me slightly off guard but not enough that I didn’t return it.

“It really is nice to finally meet you,” she said when she pulled away.

“You too.”

“And since my brother wants to act like he hasn’t told me half your business, I’ll behave.”

My head turned toward Ellis.

“Half my business?”

“Tasha.”

She laughed. “I’m exaggerating.”

“You better be.”

“I know you own the bookstore. I know Naomi is your best friend. I know you apparently judge people’s coffee orders.”

I closed my eyes.

Ellis laughed.

“Oh, you told her that?”

“It came up.”

“How does my opinion about your terrible coffee come up in conversation with your sister?”

“I don’t remember.”

“I do,” Tasha said.

He pointed at her. “Nobody asked you.”

“I also know you got him doing bookstore labor for free.”

“He volunteered.”

“He does that,” she said.

“I was there,” Ellis reminded her.

“I know.”

The little boy beside her laughed, and Tasha seemed to remember for the first time that she hadn’t introduced him.

“And this is my son, Jacob.”

He gave me a small wave. “Hi.”

“Hey, Jacob.”

“He’s eight,” Mila announced.
