“You have calls from CEOs’ and delegate of some countries asking to speak with A J Lloyd.”
“That’s my cue to leave with my husband, you got this big bro. Let me know when I’m needed,” she says. linking her hand with mine. Jonah kisses her forehead and leaves.
Ice comes right in. “Can we go now?” Jola laughs, she puts the ring back in the box. And hand the box to Ice.
“Now, keep that box safe and we can leave.”
He frowns and she rolls her eyes at him, making him do the same.
I take her hand in mine, and we leave the conference room and head to the elevators. I know our journey as a couple just began. I’m determined to make it a happy journey for us.
Chapter eighty-two
Lexi/Jola
It’s been four weeks since my face was plastered across major TV networks, Newspapers, Magazines and billboards. Jonah and I have had to come together and answer questions about why the world is now knowing that there’s another A J Lloyd.
I’ve had to speak French on live TV. A pure roller coaster of events but at the end of each day.
My husband welcomes me home with hugs, kisses and orgasms that I’m totally not complaining about.
I get to sleep in his arms every night, no nightmares.
My father-in-law has called to congratulate A J Lloyd, and he says AKA Mrs Powell.
Emily is now my personal stylist. Ice and Smith are now my bodyguards. Bruce keeps tight control of my security. I have received a few weird messages from men, which just made my husband want to punch somebody, but chose to heighten my security. Tricia is now my PA, Julian wasn’t happy that I stole one of his staff, especially since they’ve not been able to fill my spot. So, I talked to Bruce, and I called Jonathan about the opening. Julian hired Jonathan right away and Bruce reminded me that I’m not allowed anywhere around Jonathan.
The best gift from Bruce was getting a chance to speak to Lexi, Amrit girlfriend, it was bittersweet speaking with her.
The wives and I have managed to hang out and have fun. I love that, with them, I’m just Jolaade, and we can laugh and talk about everything, after lunch with them, I return home early and take the test. It’s positive. I can’t believe I’m pregnant.
Soon as I hear the unit door, I know Bruce is back. I wait in our room, I know that’s his next stop.
He soon comes in. I’m still dressed sitting on the bed.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, moving fast to stand in front of me.
“I’m pregnant,” I whisper and a smile spread across his face.
“Are you sure?”
“Until we visit a doctor, I can’t be certain, but my period is late and the two tests in the bathroom show positive.”
“That’s sure enough for me.” He takes over my lips, kissing me senselessly.
“I love you, Mrs. Powell, Onitemi.”
“I love you too, Mr. Darcy.”
“Come on, I picked up dinner, and I’m kicking the boys out so I can spend time with my wife.”
“Any preference on gender?” I know he once said a girl.
“A girl that’s splitting image of my wife, so I can someday look at her face on my dying bed, and I get to name her A J Powell.” I smile because I now understand the joy my dad felt seeing Eni’s face.
“Come on, Sprinkles. I need to feed you and the baby.” I take his hand and we head to the living room.
“Good night, guys,” he shouts to Ice and Smith.
“Night, boss,” they respond and I laugh because my husband is jubilant as I am too. The door closes and Bruce spins me around, dancing. “I owe you a wedding, Mrs. Powell,” he says, trying to salsa and I laugh.
“That, you absolutely do, but keep it family only,” I say, moving with him.
“Whatever you want, sprinkles. I’m a very happy man.”
I laugh and dance with him, closing my eyes, and thankful for my parents, my brother and life that made me a happy woman with fairytale ending.
