“Jade will not speak to me until she’s ready. No point going back and forth. We’ll close this deal and see Jade without any interruptions. In the meantime, I need to deal with Chloe, how dare her, the audacity of confronting my wife.”

“She didn’t know Mariam is your wife.”

“Fine, she didn’t know, so what I couldn’t take my dick and business elsewhere did she have to confront her.” I’m beyond furious.

“She probably thought she was being a smart businesswoman.”

“Well, let’s see how smart she is when I pull the rug from under her.”

“Ouch! Naseer, don’t let her fall on her face,” he dryly states.

“I don’t care, did she think I would just return to her after this stunt.” He shrugs as he leaves the room.

I placed a call to Luca. He’s Chloe’s enemy. Chloe had stepped on some toes while she was trying to grow her business. She’d tried to be a savvy businesswoman and stolen crucial information from Luca’s uncle. When Luca tried to get the information, she then tried to blackmail the uncle causing more problems for herself without knowing. I’d protected her from Luca’s wrath but not anymore. It’s time she paid the piper.

“Hey Nas, longtime my friend, did I miss something?”

“How are you doing, Luca?”

“Pretty good, what’s up Prince Naseer,” he says mockingly. I would like to mock him right back, but I need to end this Chloe’s situation.

“As of today, I’m longer a friend of Chloe, you can do as you see fit with her and her business,” I say right away.

“Are you sure about this Naseer, because you can’t take this back tomorrow.” I can tell I now have his attention.

“I’m very sure, she’s all yours. Goodbye.”

“Always a pleasure doing business.” I hear him say before I end the call.

I call Chloe once Luca is looped in. She answers right away. “Hi Prince Naseer, so lovely to hear from you,” she says in a sing-song tone. I wish I could throttle her over the phone, she has no idea what she has cost me but she’s about to pay the price for her insolence.

“It won’t be when you hear what I’m about to say, but before I do, why did you visit Mariam today,” I ask, maintaining my calm before her storm.

“Oh, she’s a lovely lady and she tried to be coy, but we did speak one businesswoman to another,” she says excitedly in a sing-song tone.

“Well, you went too far, I’ve ignored your sense of entitlement for far too long, guess what you’ve earned yourself a ticket out of my protection when you visited my wife today.”

“Prince Naseer, I’m very sorry. I didn’t know.” Singsong is immediately replaced with the reality voice of I’m screwed.

“I know you didn’t, but you didn’t have any right to visit her, now did you?”

“I’m sorry, Prince Naseer. Please forgive me. I’ll send an apology to Mrs Raimlat.”

“Goodbye, Chloe. Luca will be calling soon.”

I hung up without giving her any chance to offer more apologies, now I must close the deal and go have a talk with my stubborn wife.

A week later, Raheem and I are still unable to close the deal and it’s getting on my last nerves they keep bringing up a new item each time. Had my uncle not insisted we closed this deal. I would have walked away.

Now, I’m stuck far away from Jade, and I dislike that very much.

Jade

I’m nervous about meeting with James, I shouldn’t be, had things been straight unfortunately things became crooked between us no thanks to Naseer, now I owe James an apology.

We had planned to meet at the pizza place we used to visit, I still love the pizza here, so it would be a good spot for us. I’d change several outfits because I didn’t want to give the wrong impression, my suit was too formal, some dresses spelled sexy and some just didn’t feel comfortable. I finally settled for a knee-length sun dress. Simple, beautiful, and casual.
