“Trauma can cause a lot of damage, Tyson. Some people simply do not want to deal with it. They would rather turn it off, and I understand that. Being without you, even if only for a day, almost killed me. if you were taken from me, I would be numb and would not want to feel the loss.”

He nods, leaning in to kiss my lips gently. “Does this mean that we can move on?”

Cupping his jaw, I smile against his lips. “Yes. I hated fighting with you, my heart shredded ever second, I was away from you.”

His breath catches, just a small sound, but it hits me. He leans closer, like he’s trying to read every flicker in my eyes.

“Right back at you, baby. Never a-fucking-gain.” He murmurs, a teasing lilt under the words, but his eyes are all emotion.

“Never again.” We both vow.

“Good. Because I was going insane without you.” His lips curve, that slow smile he only ever gives me.

“No drama. No more distance. We talk from now on.”

“No more fucking drama. No more of you not letting me touch you. And we talk everything through.” He repeats it back to me in his way.

Brushing his lips over mine again, gentle, grateful, yet it holds so much promise.

Now we start our lives together, and I know it will have its difficulties, but I am looking forward to the ride with my demon rider.

EPILOGUE

Tyson

The night has that perfect Halloween bite to it. Supernatural vibes swirl in the air, Fae come to light now needing to hide as much and enjoying the freedom.

Demons roam, but ones that are not to cause trouble, but to commit Sin.

The families had cleared out an hour ago, kids sugar buzzed and happy after the hayrides and the maze. The brothers were proud of that part; we always made sure the town got something good out of us.

It is our way to show the locals that we are not to be fears, but we are also not pushovers. Most know that we protect the people, but some still keep themselves out of our paths.

But now it is our time.

Adult time.

Music thumps through the clubhouse; low bass vibrating through the floorboards. Laughter rolled across the room, bottles clinking, boots stomping. My kind of night, especially when I have my woman with me.

The hang-arounds were already doing their thing, trying too hard, showing off, making the patched members laugh. The club girls are gone, and the clubhouse feels lighter. Yes, Misty and Petal stayed on, but they were never the ones to stir shit up.

So, they now help around the clubhouse and please the brothers.

Life is good. Actually—life is fucking good.

Kristina was sitting on my lap, her body warm against my chest, her drink in hand, her hair brushing my jaw every time she turned to say something smart mouthed to me or one of my brothers.

My arm around her waist, fingers hooked casually in the belt loop of her jeans, in a possessive way. Not that I need to remind the male locals that stick around to drink and fuck.

She leaned back a little, glancing up at me with that spark in her eyes. “You look smug,” she said, sipping her drink.

“I am smug,” I told her. “Got my girl on my lap, my brothers in the room, and no one’s trying to stab anyone tonight. It’s a damn miracle.”

She snorted. “Give it time.”

“Don’t jinx it,” Zeke calls from across the table, pointing at her with a beer bottle. “Last Halloween Milo ended up chasing a dude dressed as a vampire through the parking lot.”

“He stole the chick I wanted to bang.” Milo explains, a hot dog on hand.
