“Aww, honey. You are better off without him” a woman says, I can hear the pity in her voice.

I nod, feeling all kinds of emotions that are rushing through me.

“Go, take a break,” Spencer says to my right.

With another nod, I leave the bar. Walking to the back, where we have a small area for the staff to smoke, I lean against the wall, then sink to the floor, my butt hitting the wooden decking.

Bringing my knees up to my chest, I wrap my arms around while I rest my forehead on my knees, and I cry. Deep sobs breaks free, as my chest feels like it is crushing my heart.

Why? I just don’t get it. We are bonded, yet he is off talking about being fed up with me after one fight. Clearly Tyson is not the man I thought he was.

This hurts more than what that demon Harlan did to me. Fuck, I would go through that all over again to not feel this kind of pain.

My jaw aches from grinding my teeth so hard to control my sobbing, my eyes sting.

Fuck I want to run away, but I don’t see the point, he would find me, if he wanted.

Will he want to find me?

Pulling in deep breaths, I dry my face. Licking my lips, that feel swollen from me biting them, I climb to my feet, with my hands on the wall behind me for support. A wave of dizziness shifts in me, making me stumble.

“Shit.” Thank fuck for the wall.

Or I would be on my ass again.

Once I am feeling more stable, I shake off the extra tension that is still lingering on my bones and walk back inside. Ducking into the staff lounge, I look through my purse for my make-up and use some cover-up to hide the redness.

Walking back into the main bar area, the sounds of the music, and the people force me to push back my troubles and get back to work.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end as I approach the bar, then a hand clamps down around my wrist, stopping my step. Before I can swing at the bastard for touching me, I hear his voice.

“It is me, baby. Easy, tiger.” With my fists still clenched, I yank my wrist free stepping back.

He doesn’t say anything more, just looks at me. My insides twist and the threat of puking comes flooding back. Sighing, I go to step around him, but he moves in my path.

“Go back to the club, Tyson. I will stay at my place tonight.”

“No,” he growls, and my stupid body reacts to him.

The bond pulls between us; I fight the arousal but fuck me it is hard.

I inch back since he will not let me pass him.

“I am fucking tired,” I admit. “Slept like crap last night and have had to deal with the man who is supposed to love me, fuck off to have sex with someone else after one flight over something stupid.” My voice is low, but it holds a punch.

“Do you think that low of me?” His voice is hard, but I see some sadness through the bond.

“Honestly, Tyson, I do not know you well enough or about all the Reaper thing.”

We stare at each other. I bite my lip, my fingers picking at the fray in my jeans.

“You know me enough, Kristina. The bond shows you that I will never cheat on you.”

I shrug. “All I felt was anger, and arousal. Then the arousal was gone, yet the anger remained. Top that with you not saying goodbye to me this morning, or even telling me that you were leaving the clubhouse. I did not know where my man was, he was just gone. Then I hear the club girls talking in the restroom about how you fucked her and told her that you were already over being tied to me. You have to see it from my point of view.” I tell him, my anger showing in my harsh tone.

He scoffs, running his hand over his head.

I watch as he rests his hands on the wall, dipping his head, breathing deeply like he is trying to control himself. What right does he have to be pissed off, he is the one that went to another woman?
