CHAPTER ONE

Tyson

The night tastes like iron and smoke.

My kind of air.

It clings to my skin, humming against the power coiled beneath it.

Being a demon isn’t something I ever chose. I was made for one purpose: reap the souls that escape Hell. Drag them back. Make sure they never touch the living again.

Some demons rot in the pits. Some torture. Me? Well, I fucking hunt the cunts down.

And I’m not alone.

The Reapers Order MC rolls beside me, engines snarling like hellhounds. We’re not a normal club—we’re the last line between the living and the dead.

When a soul slips through the cracks, when it claws its way out of the fire, we track it, bind it, and send it screaming back where it fucking belongs.

Tonight’s hunt is personal.

Harlan Pike was a sick bastard when he was alive. A predator. A man who enjoyed breaking things that couldn’t fight back. Death didn’t fix him. Hell didn’t fix him. And now he’s lose topside, ready to wreak havoc on anyone unlucky enough to cross his path.

Not on my watch. This other fucker is going back to burn for all eternity.

My demon senses burn like coals behind my ribs. He’s close.

Each of us has a level of power that helps us. Me, I can feel when our mark is close.

Zeke, our President, pulls up beside me, his bike rumbling low. “Tyson,” he growls, voice rough as gravel. “You feel him?”

“Yeah,” I mutter, tensing. “He’s bleeding fear into the air. Not his own, but someone else’s.”

Zeke’s jaw ticks. “Then we move fast.”

Otto, our Enforcer, swings his bike around, stopping just ahead of us. His eyes glow faintly, mush like the rest of us “Harlan’s getting bold. He’s already touched a human. I can smell the corruption.”

Our SAA, Teo cracks his neck, tattoos shifting like shadows. “Then let’s end this. I’m sick of chasing this freak.”

“With the amount jumping, we will hit our quota sooner rather than later.” Huck shakes his head.

I rev my engine, letting the demon stretch, claws scraping my bones. It wasn’t always like this, I was human once, but I fucked up and this is my penance. I got tossed back topside to help being back fucks who escaped.

“We’re not just ending him,” I say. “We’re dragging him back screaming.”

Zeke smirks. “That’s my Reaper.”

We roll out, four bikes slicing through the dark. The world blurs, but the soul’s trail is sharp, like rot, like old blood, carrying a stench that will lead us to him.

My demon whispers inside me, eager. Hungry.

There.

A flicker of movement near the abandoned mill. A ripple in the air that only the dead make.

Otto points. “He’s inside.”

“Let’s go say hi.” Teo calls out.
