Not my finest moment but I’m proud of her.

She took it like a champ. Didn’t look fazed in the least. Even tried to reason with the cops to let my brother and me off.

Like a true ol’ lady.

I turn around as I hear a whistle that sounds like Mountain.

Taking the few short steps to the door, my hands wrap around the metal bars.

“Did they really put us next to each other?” I laugh.

“They sure as hell did.” Mountain laughs back.

Fucking dumbasses.

“They let you have a phone call yet?”

We need to get the club lawyer on this because I’m not about to have an assault and battery charge on my record for kicking Mountain’s ass.

“Not yet. Fuckin’ pricks.”

Damn.

We’re about to be in here all night.

“Alright, brother. Take it easy.”

Mountain snorts. “I’m going to whack one off. Mark my territory on this ugly fucking mattress.”

I shake my head and laugh.

Jesus fucking Christ.

“You’re laughing, but you better do it too.”

“And why the fuck would I want to do that?”

Mountain has lost his fucking mind.

“To mark your territory,” he repeats as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“You saying that doesn’t make it sound any better.”

“Suit yourself.”

I can see Mountain shrugging in his cell as he goes off to whack one off on that nasty fucking mattress.

I’m pacing back and forth, refusing to touch anything in this place until I at least get a phone call. I go back to the door and lean on the bar as I decide to wait for an officer to walk by so I can ask if they know what the fuck is going on.

An officer is starting to make his rounds. As he rounds the corner, I whistle and stick my arm through the slats to get his attention.

The officer sees me, but he doesn’t pick up his step. Instead, he slows the fuck down and takes his sweet fucking time to get to my cell.

I flick my wrist out in an ‘are you fucking kidding me’ gesture. The officer just raises his brows at me.

“Do I get a phone call?”

The officer doesn’t say a word as he takes a ring of keys off his belt. “Bennett Huxley, you’ve made bail.”
