“I see how it is.”

“You don’t see nothing because there isn’t shit to see.”

“Uh huh,” Mountain says as he crosses his arms.

Both of our heads turn toward her house as we hear a car door slam shut and start up. A white Nissan Altima with windows tinted so dark I can’t even see the outline of a person backs out of the garage and down her short driveway. Our attention follows her as she backs out onto our street, puts the car in drive and zooms right past my house.

I can’t see her through her tinted windows, but I felt the glare she was giving me. I’m sure there was a middle finger thrown in too.

A pussy would have been cowering in his boots. But my mama didn’t raise a bitch for a son. It’s going to be fun playing with this one.

Mountain lets out another low whistle. “Damn, brother. I felt that cold ass glare from here. I fear you’re in the doghouse with a woman you’ve never talked to before. I’ll say a prayer for your little dick.”

“Man, shut the fuck up,” I growl as I throw my wrench at him again, this time not missing as I watch it hit him smack dab in the shin.

The crazy fucker laughs it off. “Hurry the fuck up. I’m ready to head back to the clubhouse.”

“Let me lock up real quick.”

Only a fucking idiot would be stupid enough to come into my house uninvited, but I don’t really feel like taking the chance tonight and giving my lovely neighbor another excuse to leave a note on my door when I’m not home.

She’s going to learn real quick that in my world, if you have something to say, you do it face to face and you say it with your whole chest.

“So what the fuck are we doing for my birthday?” Scar asks as he downs the last of his beer and chucks the can into the trash.

“We were thinking of renting out one of the tea houses. Figured you might like that since you’ve been a prissy bitch about your birthday lately,” I tell him with a straight face as I open the fridge behind the bar and toss him another beer.

Scar catches the beer as his eyes dart around the bar. “Fucking tea? You better be fucking joking.”

Mountain is barely keeping it together, but the rest are playing the part as they nod their heads.

“I fuck with some green tea from time to time.” Bomber shrugs.

Scar stares at Bomber as if he doesn’t know who he is.

Mountain can’t hold it in any longer as his loud laugh booms throughout the clubhouse. We all join in as we watch Scar relax.

“Hilarious,” Scar says dryly. “Now tell me what the fuck we’re doing.”

“I reserved a few tables at Losti Ravn’s Gentleman’s Club,” I say, throwing him a bone.

Scar relaxes further back on his bar stool as he slaps his hand down on the bar. “Now that’s what I’m talking about.”

Right on cue, Lilah slides up against Scar as her hands begin to massage his shoulders. “You don’t want to party here with us?” Lilah pouts. “You know me and the girls would love to throw you a party.”

“Sorry, babe. You know the score,” Scar tells her as he runs his thumb along her jaw. “You’ll be waiting for me when I get back, though, right?”

“You know I will,” Lilah purrs in his ear, losing the pout.

Mountain’s lip curls in disgust, making me choke on my whiskey, sending me into a coughing fit. He, like me, has never been into the club bunnies. There’s nothing wrong with them. I just prefer not to stick my dick somewhere where all my brothers have been.

“So,” Mountain starts off, pausing as he gives me a look that I know whatever comes out of his mouth next is going to piss me off. “Are you going to confront Blake?” Mountain asks me as he leans against the bar.

“Blake?” I ask confused.

Who the hell is Blake?

“Do we got a problem?” Professor asks, his tone low as he stares at Mountain over his glass, changing the vibe in the room from easygoing to on edge.
