Maybe if I had a little spitfire to entertain me, I could. She’s going to hate me even more when she finds out pissing her off is my new favorite activity.

Which brings me back to her weird-ass boss.

Blake distracted me last night, and I didn’t want to take away from Scar’s birthday, but I need to fill them in.

“Wake everyone’s ass up. Church in ten,” I order as I wander into the clubhouse’s kitchen to find some goddamn coffee.

God, my head is pounding.

I internally sigh as I see one of the club bunnies in the kitchen. I really try not to be an asshole to them, but sometimes they make it so hard. I got over the desperate for attention act ten years ago. Now, it just turns me off.

Lilah seems to have moved her sights to Chance, a prospect. He’s real close to proving himself and being patched in. I think she thinks she will have a better chance of being an old lady. He’ll wake up one day and realize they’re all only after the patch. If the club disappears, she would drop him in a heartbeat.

“Hey, Sling,” Lilah greets as she pours grounds into the coffeemaker. Her eyes move back and forth between me and her task at hand. “Can I get you anything?”

From her tone, she’s offering more than what was just said. Can’t hate a player for shooting their shot.

“No, babe. I’m good. Just some coffee.”

She smiles in understanding. “Coming right up.”

“I’m going to be in church. Knock on the door when it’s done, yeah?”

“Yeah.” Lilah nods. “I’ll bring it in.”

“Thanks, babe.”

I leave the kitchen, not wanting to hang around her anymore. Shit always gets awkward when you turn them down. It’s not like I care about how her fucking day is going. She’s a hang around getting free booze and food, sleeping with whoever wants her in their bed.

Just as I’m turning the corner to walk into church, Scar’s door to his room opens. He steps out in sweatpants and no shirt. His eyes are open in thin slits.

“Oof, brother.” I wince. “You look fucking rough.”

Scar flips me off as he slams the bathroom door.

“Hurry the fuck up.” I laugh as I walk into the room and take my seat at the head of the table.

The rest of the guys trickle in slowly, taking their seats around the table. None of them look as rough as Scar.

“There a reason we’re having church when we’re all hungover as fuck?” Whiplash asks as he cracks open a beer.

“Dude, get that shit away from me. Do you want me to puke on you? You know I have a sensitive tummy.” Mountain glares at him as he reaches for Whiplash’s beer.

Whiplash moves it out of reach as he snickers. “You need to give me your mom’s number so I can tell her she raised a bitch.”

“Do you want me to kick your ass too?” Mountain asks, his voice rising as he sits up in his chair.

“Funny, thought it was you that got your ass kicked last night.”

“Both of you shut the fuck up,” I order with a grin on my face.

Mountain slouches back in his chair. “It was a one-time thing.”

“Uh huh,” Whiplash says as he chugs the beer and slams it down, letting out a loud burp. “Alright, I’m ready to rock and roll. What’s up?”

Mountain looks at him with disgust as he waves his hand in front of his face. “That smells like dirty pussy. Keep that shit out of my face.”

“Or what? You’re going to kick my ass?” Whiplash mocks, making all of us snicker.
