“I remember a time when you were practically begging me to stay the night.” Hash smirks before climbing out of the car.

Oh, he did not.

I get out and slam my door shut as I stomp after him. “I never once begged you to stay in my bed.”

“Uh huh,” Hash mumbles. I can hear the smirk in his voice.

Frankie left the front porch light on for me, making it easy to find my keys out of my bag. Hash’s hand comes down on mine, taking the keys out of my grasp, and unlocks the door, letting himself in.

“Hash, you aren’t staying the night. I’m being serious,” I say to his back, and I follow him into my house.

“Frankie,” Hash greets as we find her in the kitchen.

Her eyes widen in shock as she takes him in before her attention moves behind him, landing on me. “What the fuck?” she mouths.

I just shake my head.

I don’t even know where to begin.

“Bet I’m not the man you were expecting to see, am I?” Hash asks her. I take in his body language, trying to gauge how this conversation is about to go. He doesn’t look as pissed as earlier, but he still sounds mad about the whole thing.

Frankie is looking at us like a deer caught in the headlights.

“I’ll explain later,” I mouth to her once Hash’s back is turned to me.

“Well, I’m going to head out. Cormac is passed the fuck out. You two kids have fun,” Frankie says as she quickly grabs her bag.

I look at her with wide eyes are she passes me on her way to the front door because what the fuck? She’s going to leave me here to deal with this alone when she’s the reason I’m in this mess?

“Later, girl.” Hash flicks his wrist out in a single wave as he makes himself comfortable on the couch. “Sit down, baby doll. You and I need to have a little chat,” Hash says once the front door slams shut, his voice low.

Goddamnit.

HASH

Ever since I laid eyes on Aisling and that motherfucker at Bella Vita, I’ve barely been able to keep a lock on it.

Fucking Aisling bent over the hood of my Mustang only took the edge off. It wasn’t how I wanted our first time back together to go, but that’s always been us. We go back and forth until it gets so intense we go up in flames.

What the fuck was she thinking going out on a goddamn date?

I can’t tell if I’m more pissed off at the fact that it was with a man who is nothing like me. He’s about as polar opposite as you can get. Or the fact that she really doesn’t want to give us another shot.

The way I had her squirming and moaning on the hood of the Mustang tells me it’s not the latter.

A man like the pussy in the suit could never keep a woman like Aisling satisfied.

I’m glad Aisling’s girl left for her sake because I would have had this conversation with or without her here, and I know how Aisling hates having a drama, as she puts it, in front of others.

“You going to sit down or stand there all night?” I ask as I recline back on her couch, throwing one arm over the back.

Aisling sighs, and her shoulders fall as she walks over to me and sits on the opposite end.

The dress she’s wearing fits her like a glove, hugging her curves in all the right places. She should never have worn it for him.
