Stuff at their club hasn’t calmed down over the last two years. If anything, it’s gotten worse. I know Prez was hesitant to move in given what we all went through with Evan and Sutton, hell, even Matteo’s girl, Wren. But the bastard keeps pushing and pushing. I was done with it a year ago, but I don’t have a woman to worry about.
At least, not one next to my side.
Not a day goes by that I haven’t thought about Aisling. She haunts my dreams and lightens my nightmares. Sometimes I think I can still smell her perfume, but I know it’s my brain playing tricks on me.
“Did I not just tell you to shut the fuck up?” Prez says, his voice hard. “If you would fucking listen for two seconds, you would know what’s going on. I want you to educate him about how we do things.”
Cyrus relaxes back in his seat as his lip tips up like he didn’t just freak the fuck out. “It would be my pleasure.”
“Yeah, I’m sure it fucking would.” Prez rolls his eyes. “You pussies know the drill. Everyone in favor of Levi proving himself one last time and getting patched in say I.” I’s sound throughout the room. Prez bangs the gavel three times on the wooden table. “Looks like Levi is finally going to get his wish.”
We all cheer again.
The kid fucking deserves it.
“We’ll bring him in and get him up to step after this weekend when we get back.”
Back?
“Back from what?” I ask, sounding confused as everyone looks.
“Hickory Hills, Georgia.”
Georgia?
“What the fuck is in Hickory Hills?”
“A self-defense class.”
“A what?”
Cyrus bursts out laughing. “I can’t wait to take you fuckers down.”
Prez sighs as he rubs his temples. “You’re not taking anyone down. If I have to tell you to shut the fuck up one more time, I’m going to shoot your dick off.”
Cyrus stops his laughing to resume his glare from earlier as he crosses his arms and slouches back in his seat.
“As I was saying.” Prez aims a look at Cyrus. “Hickory Hills is having its annual fall festival, Rhythm and Brews. An old buddy of mine wants to put on a self-defense class called Dismount and Defense. He asked if we would help out. Evan heard us talking about it and lost her shit because she wants apple cider. So, we’re co-sponsoring it with him.
“So let me get this straight, because Evan wants to get her basic bitch on, we have to go to Georgia?” I wish I could say I wouldn’t be this pussy-whipped if it were Aisling, but I know I would be. Fuck, even now if I saw her walking down the street, I don’t know if I would have the strength to walk away again.
“Pretty much. We’re all going, but I volunteered you to help us out with demos, Hash.”
A gasp sounds throughout the room, drawing all eyes to Cyrus. “Are you fucking kidding me?”
Prez leans over on one hip in his chair, pulling out his gun. He fires one shot at Cyrus’ feet, purposely missing. The crazy bastard doesn’t even flinch. “Shut the fuck up. I said you can come, didn’t I?”
“Yeah. But once again I’m missing all the fun,” Cyrus pouts.
“Will the demo partner be a man or a woman?” I don’t want some other dude all up in my junk or vice versa.
“Woman. My buddy Owen is taking care of the partners.”
“Then I’m in.” I smirk at Cyrus. “All the ladies love me.”
Too bad the only woman I want is one I can never have.
“This is the biggest piece of bullshit I’ve ever heard,” Cyrus whines. “The ladies love me more.”
