I bat my lashes in his direction. “Why not?”

“Because I’ll want to keep you forever.”

My hands meet the floor of the pool as I push up off the ground, exaggerating my movement as I make my way to the drop-off. I pause at the edge, dragging my toe back and forth before looking over my shoulder. “That doesn’t sound half bad,” I whisper, and then I’m diving in, hoping like hell that he follows.

When I surface, he’s standing at the edge, staring down at me. I crook my finger at him, a dare more than anything else.

He lets out a quiet scoff, looking to the sky before bringing his gaze back to mine. “You’re everything good about me, Kait.”

I don’t have a chance to ask what he means by that before he jumps over my head, landing on the other side of me, but the splash he makes is enough to have me shrieking.

He pops up behind me, hands landing on my hips as he brings his lips to my ear. “I’ve spent so much time trying to find my way out of the dark, then you came along, shining your light into the darkest parts of me.”

He nips at my neck.

“I’m a broken man, Princesa. It feels selfish to want you, to pull you into my mess. But I do. I want everything you’re willing to give me.”

A breathy moan leaves me when his lips trail up my neck, and my head lolls back on his shoulder. He moves one hand from my hip to the hem of my swimsuit before he whispers, “In turn, I’ll give you my broken pieces, but don’t you dare leave me.”

His fingers deftly undo one side of my bottoms, letting the flimsy fabric float freely in the water. “Don’t leave me in the dark, Kait,” he whispers.

“Never.” I turn, wrapping my arms around his neck. My fingers immediately find their way into his hair. I kiss him slowly at first, hoping it conveys how much I not only missed him, but how thankful I am that he shared this with me.

One of his hands rises to cup my face, fingers sliding into my wet hair, before he turns us around and pushes me gently into the cool tile wall. His other hand pulls at the other side of my swimsuit before he puts his foot against one of mine and spreads my legs further apart. I feel the fabric float away, but I don’t dare pull my lips from his.

His fingers find my clit, applying the perfect amount of pressure to send me hurling toward the cliff that I’m realizing only he can throw me off of.

The speed increases as his other hand trails down my spine. A shiver rolls through me, my head leaning forward against his shoulder, my eyes falling to where his hand is, bringing me closer to the edge. God, the sight is erotic, his fingers moving through the water that’s illuminated by only the moonlight. My knees wobble, and he moves in closer until there’s no space left between our bodies, and I arch into him, begging for his continued attention.

The water moves with us, hitting the tile with a quiet splat. He leans down, pressing his lips to mine before his tongue sweeps into my mouth with the same intensity he’s giving my pussy. Our teeth knock together, his groans swallowed by sounds of my own. A symphony of us, blissful in our quiet bubble.

He pinches my clit, and I detonate. My jaw falls open despite the fact that he’s still kissing me, and a cry of pleasure fills the night sky.

When I come down, I pull back just enough to look at him. His lips are swollen, hair disheveled by my hands, chest rising and falling all too fast. His head tilts, and he drags his lips slowly down my neck.

My eyes flutter closed, fingers digging into the muscle in his back. I tip my head farther to the side, allowing him more space to work. I’m so tuned into him, I catalogue everything, soaking in the feeling of the soft press of his lips, the faintest graze of his teeth against my neck, the way his hand traces the crease of my hip, teasing me with every pass.

“Markus.” His name comes out a desperate plea for us to take this anywhere else.

He hums against my throat, giving me one last kiss before his eyes pin me in place. “Te quiero, mi reina.”

I don’t get a chance to ask what that means because he’s grabbing my hand, pulling me from the water, only to pick me up bridal style and set me on the grass next to the pool. He pulls the tie at the back of my top, then the one around my neck, letting it fall to the ground, then off come his boxers.

I lick my lips as I take him in. The man is freaking beautiful: strong muscles, beautiful tattoos, a heart of gold above all. He takes a step toward me, and my chin instinctively lifts in anticipation of him bending down and kissing me again.

His tongue slides against the seam of my lips, and I open immediately. His hips meet mine, the head of his cock bumping into my overly sensitive clit in a way that has me reaching down to grab it.

He hisses when my hand wraps around it. “Go on, Princesa. Show me how much you missed me.”

Holy. Shit.

I squeeze around his crown before moving my hand up and down his shaft. He keeps his heated eyes on me the entire time, licking his lips as he watches me like I’m his next meal.

“You’re so good to me.”

My thighs clench at his words.

“This is the best welcome home.”
