‘No. It’s from my old place in the countryside. I used to have a cinema room, but space is more limited here, so I got the screen installed. It’s housed in the ceiling.’ He pointed and I saw the opening. ‘When I want to watch a film, I just press a button and the television retreats and the screen appears.’

My eyes popped.

He used to have a cinema room.

‘What happened to your old place?’

‘I was hardly there, so I gave it to Heath. He gets more use of it at the weekends with his kids. I have a smaller cottage in the country now instead.’

‘Oh,’ was all I could say.

He just gave a house to his brother.

‘What film would you like to start with?’ Blake went over to the popcorn machine, grabbed a large bowl and filled it up.

‘The Proposal.’

Blake opened the champagne, poured two glasses, then sat down.

Excitement fizzed in my stomach.

I couldn’t believe I was about to snuggle up on the sofa with the hottest, kindest man I’d ever met and watch a romcom on a cinema screen in a fancy penthouse, whilst sipping champagne, snacking on fresh popcorn and enjoying my favourite sweets.

How was this even my life?

‘Sit.’ Blake patted the seat beside me. ‘We have an important date with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Let’s not keep them waiting.’

BLAKE

‘Good morning!’ I strode into the meeting room in our Madrid office where Oscar, Seb and Heath were already seated.

It was Monday and whilst Oscar and Heath had arrived in the city last night, I’d taken the jet here first thing.

‘Sorry about the delay,’ I continued. ‘I had to finish a call.’

When I sat at the head of the large glass table, I noticed my brothers were all glaring at me, their jaws slack.

They looked between each other, frowned, then turned their gazes back to me.

‘You’re chirpy today.’ Heath tilted his head as he scanned my face.

‘Yeah,’ Seb agreed, a deep line forming across his forehead.

‘And not only did you say good morning, you apologised.’ Oscar narrowed his eyes.

‘Because I was late,’ I said.

‘Our meeting was at ten. It’s now one minute past,’ Seb added.

‘Precisely,’ I replied, wondering what their problem was. ‘I was late.’

‘You’ve been a whole five minutes late before and never apologised,’ Heath piped up.

‘What can I say? I’m growing as a person. It’s called respecting people’s schedules. That’s the last time I’m polite to you arseholes!’

‘There he is!’ Heath’s shoulders relaxed. ‘That’s the Blake we know and love.’
