“I can feel it, it’s…it’s growing, getting bigger.” She sucked in a breath. A pressure was building there, and it kept expanding.

“That’s good, let it build and grow, lose yourself in it.”

Kyler kept her eyes closed and did as Chaos said. She let herself feel it, get lost in it. It was so big, so volatile. God, she felt like she was floating above the ground.

“Open your eyes,” Chaos said.

She did—

A massive fist was coming at her. She ducked, spun under that massive fist on the end of an equally massive arm, then came up and slammed her own fist into his side, his kidney, instinctively knowing that would cause the most pain. Chaos grunted, and she swung back, sweeping his leg with her own.

The thud of his colossal body hitting the mat was loud, jarring, and Kyler froze, panting, staring down at Chaos lying on the floor clutching his side.

Oh my god!

Her gaze sliced to his.

The massive warrior was grinning up at her.

She stood there shocked. If someone asked her what she’d just done, how she’d just done it…she wouldn’t be able to tell them. Chaos told her to feel, not to think, and that’s exactly what she’d done. There hadn’t been time to think.

“I’m so sorry,” she said, her gaze slicing to Grace, who was biting her lips together. “I don’t know what happened. I didn’t mean to hurt him like that.” She looked back down at Chaos. “I didn’t mean to hurt you like that.”

He jumped to his feet, wincing a little, but that grin was still on his face. He held out his fist, and she stared at it, then up at him. He kept his fist out, that grin still wide, and she gave him what he wanted. She bumped it with her own. That’s when she heard Grace laughing.

Kyler spun back to her.

“That was…” Grace shook her head. “Jesus, that was a thing of pure beauty.” She moved to Chaos and pulled up his shirt where Kyler had punched him. “You’ve already got a bruise. Kyler bruised your thick hide.”

Chaos winced. “She packs a mean fucking punch.”

Kyler stared at the male, not knowing how to read him. “So you’re not pissed at me?”

Chaos and Grace both turned to her.

“I know you don’t get this yet,” Chaos said, “’cause it’s new and this shit can be scary, but this is a big fucking deal, Ky. This is—”

“Extremely cool,” Grace finished. “You took Chaos down,” she said, smirking.

“You’re enjoying this way too much,” he said to his mate.

She chuckled and wrapped her arms round his waist. “I’ll kiss it better later.”

The door opened, and Rocco walked in, looking alert. “You okay?”

Kyler nodded as he moved in, and she looked up at him. “Yeah, um…”

“She just laid Chaos out,” Grace said.

“No shit?” Roc asked.

“Again, you are enjoying this way too fucking much, angel,” Chaos muttered to Grace.

She smiled up at him. “I’m celebrating Kyler’s achievement. You want to go again, Ky?”

“She can beat up her mate this time, I’m gonna need a minute. I think she ruptured my kidney,” Chaos said.

Kyler didn’t know if he was teasing or not, but going by the way he kind of limped toward the door, Grace’s arm still around him, she thought he might be telling the truth.
