I peek at her through my lashes, then look down again to pull out a bloody glass shard. “About what happened in your room.”

“Elijah knows, and that’s all that matters.”

“He talks to me,” I say, and lay the tweezers on the ground. I grab a cotton pad and soak it in hydrogen peroxide.

Her breath hisses between her teeth while I clean the wounds before gluing them shut.

“I know he does,” she says after I finish. “But I don’t want to talk about it with you.”

I lean back on my haunches and look up at her face. “Then what can you talk about with me?”

She bites her bottom lip.

I drop my gaze to her mouth and don’t care how openly I’m staring. She shifts and tucks a lock of hair behind her ear.

“Do you talk with Elijah about everything?” she mutters.

I tilt my head and stare at her, unblinking. “Not everything.”

“Does he know about”—she clears her throat and averts her gaze—“you know?”

“When you watched me jerk off? No, that’s our secret.” I grin.

She nods. “Good.”

“Do you want to watch again?”

Her head snaps toward me. “No.”

I snicker. “That was a quick answer, little ghost. Maybe you do. Maybe you want to help this time around?”

“I’m with Elijah.” She shakes her head and leaps to her feet. I straighten to my full height, not bothering to give her room. She ducks past me and rushes to the door.

“You may be with my brother,” I say, “but I don’t think you’re that loyal to him, now, are you?”

She freezes and peeks at me over her shoulder. “I would never cheat on him.”

“Do you love him?”

Her skin flushes, and she averts her gaze.

My fingers curl into my palms, and I frown.

She loves Elijah.

I want to fucking kill my brother.

Eden leaves the bathroom. A few seconds pass before the front door shuts, and it’s like the gunshot needed for me to take off after her.

The elevator doors close, and I take the stairs to follow her once she reaches the first floor. Like all the other times, I keep a good distance between us, but I stick close enough for her to feel me watching her. Her strides lengthen as she heads toward Glass Hall to her dorm.

I linger in the hallway as she enters her room, where Elijah is searching through her things.

“Did you find her?” Eden asks.

“No, I’m sorry, baby,” Elijah says. “Did Asher help you?”

There’s a pregnant pause before she mumbles, “Yes.”
