Arnold lowered his voice. “Where is he now?”
“Discharged six weeks ago.”
“Jesus.”
“There’s more,” Selena said. “The earliest thing in the file is a school incident when he was seventeen. It involved troubling behavior toward a teacher.”
“Does it name the teacher?”
“No. But you need to check the school records.”
Arnold was quiet.
Selena frowned. “What?”
“Nothing.”
“That wasn’t nothing.”
“I’m just thinking.”
“Arnold.”
He exhaled. “Connor went to the school earlier.”
That caught her attention. “Why?”
“I might’ve mentioned your theory.”
“You told him I was helping?”
“No. I told him the theory was mine, like you said.”
Selena smiled. “And?”
“He thought it was good.”
“Of course he did,” Selena said, half proud, half annoyed she couldn’t get the credit.
Arnold continued, “He went to see if there were records of old students or colleagues who had problems with Miss Marsh.”
“Then send him this and say you found it by yourself.”
“I will.”
Selena closed the attachment on-screen. “I’ll email everything to you now.”
“Thanks.”
His voice changed slightly.
“What?” Selena asked.
“I’m getting nervous about this, Selena.”
“About Curtis?”
“About Connor finding out where I’m getting half my information,” Arnold said.
