Jack gripped Dimitri by the antlers and pulled his head all the way back down, holding Dimitri at the base of his cock as he erupted. The instant the load sprayed down Dimitri’s throat, he climaxed as well.
It was the most intense and pleasurable feeling Dimitri had ever experienced.
After Dimitri had finished and Jack had pulled out of his mouth, the shadows soon released him. They lay on the kitchen floor until Jack’s shadows returned once again, cocooning them in the warmth of absolute darkness.
“Let’s take this somewhere cozier.” Jack’s voice echoed from every direction in this hollow place.
Dimitri could move, could think, but he found himself lost in the darkness, completely enveloped by it.
When the light of the world returned, the two lay in Jack’s bed.
“What an interesting trick.”
“Supes convenient when I don’t feel like walking.”
The two of them lay together, and Dimitri basked in the simple pleasure of cuddling with someone he cared deeply for.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The bar was massively overcrowded with drunken celebrations as people prepared for the countdown. Jack’s pumpkin held a golden shimmer. He’d glamoured it for the occasion. Usually, Jack didn’t make New Year’s Eve such a spectacle. Sometimes he’d venture into the bar scene if he was feeling a bit festive, but on this particular night, Jack wanted Dimitri to experience the full wonder.
“They are so loud,” Dimitri said, standing extra close to Jack in order to avoid the bustle of the crowd.
He remained hyper vigilant whenever they ventured into town, studying each person closely. Jack wondered if Dimitri still worried about hunters hiding in plain sight, but he didn’t have the heart to press Dimitri on the matter. Plus, it could’ve been as simple as Dimitri despising large crowds of people like any true introvert.
Daxter’s bar rarely got this busy, but it was the perfect monster-friendly venue, since most folks expected to see Jack wander inside on occasion.
“Ah, this part I can get behind.” Dimitri pulled Jack closer as everyone paired off as the ball prepared to drop.
They’d found themselves wedged into a private, cozy little corner of the bar as the television screens revealed the countdown to the new year.
Dimitri leaned in close and gave Jack a sweet peck on his pumpkin.
“Wait.” Jack pulled Dimitri toward him and checked to ensure most of the drunk patrons were distracted.
Shadows shot out, cocooning Jack and Dimitri from everyone around. Jack removed the pumpkin, ready to be seen. Light illuminated between the cracks of darkness as Jack wanted Dimitri and only Dimitri to see him.
“How about a real kiss to celebrate the new year?”
“I would be honored.” Dimitri swept in close, wrapping an arm around the small of Jack’s back and pulling him in for a kiss.
Jack surrendered himself to the feeling, the explosive joy that filled him. Every experience with Dimitri simply completed Jack. He couldn’t explain it, couldn’t comprehend it beyond feeling complete. Fulfilled. Happy. This surge sparked inside Jack, making him crave even more experiences with Dimitri. Every and all experiences. There was so much he wanted to do with Dimitri.
After their kiss, Jack put his golden pumpkin back on, and they stayed to watch some of the fireworks before finally making their way back toward the woods.
The warm buzz filled Jack the entire time as they cut through the side alleys and approached the woods. Normally, he’d complain just a little about the cold and the fact that he was forced to turn their outing into a long trek. Always part of the compromise. Dimitri loved to explore nature, to walk the same trails a thousand times over, and Jack wanted to experience the sights and shows and splendor of the world. Mostly, he wanted to share those moments with Dimitri.
As they approached the woods, Jack noticed footsteps near their usual path. It wasn’t uncommon for people to venture into the woods, but they usually stuck to the real trails, not the hidden paths Dimitri had carved out during his many explorations.
“Hold on,” Jack said, feeling a bit of that anxiety Dimitri carried with him everywhere.
Dimitri didn’t respond, but his ears perked up, twitching as he listened intently to the noises around them.
Jack spent so much time downplaying the dangers of hunters because they posed no threat to him that he sometimes overlooked the horrors they’d done to Dimitri. The danger they still posed to Dimitri.
Surely, no hunter could navigate their way through the fog, but perhaps they believed they could intercept Jack and Dimitri before they got home.
Jack listened to the hazy whispers from afar and the heavy breaths of walking through deep snow.
