Bestie :

ME:

Aida please be serious for a MOMENT. Why tf would I pimp you out?

Bestie :

Hey man. Idk what you got going on over there. I don’t want to sell no pussy, friend.

ME:

I don’t want you to sell no pussy, bitch! Platinum and his lawyers are helping me open a private practice. I only want the best of the best representing my brand and that includes you.

Bestie :

AHHH! That’s so major!!!!!!!

ME:

Thank you bestie. You can think about it as long as you need to. We’re still in the early stages of planning, but my dream is about to be a reality!

Bestie :

Chile ain’t nothing to think about. Count me in! Soon as you’re ready I’ma put my two weeks in.

ME:

I love you sooo much

She hearted the message. The three dots popped up, but I set my phone on the bed as I felt Porter’s hands inch up my thigh.

“Good morning, Porter.”

“Good morning, Dow.”

He slid his hand between my thighs, and I lifted my leg to grant him access to the morning dew ready to coat his fingers.

Porter “Platinum” Jones.

A man.

My man.

Platinum, from the first day we met, to Porter, who I’ve spent the last four days at a cozy cottage in Canada with, were almost opposites. Who I thought he was versus who he is with me are two completely different people. Since he’d shown up at Miss Nette’s, he hasn’t let me leave his side. The improvements in his knee were exponentially better than they had been the previous weeks. He’d shown so much power and recovery in the knee that we all agreed he could start training with his team in a few weeks.

He prioritized me.

He spoiled me.

He treated me like his diary.

All the little things stacked up, and I was falling head over heels for this man. Part of me was still apprehensive, though. Maybe I’d blame my self-sabotaging nature. Maybe I’d blame my damaged heart, but I felt like there was a ball waiting to drop and ruin the fantasy we’d shared these last few days.

“Put it in my face.”

“Excuse me?” I blinked back to the present.
