Essence:

LMAO! Ye and the kids coming or just the fab 5?

Evie:

Love my niece and nephew down, but if daddy paying….

I need kids free, no shade to brotha in law though. I’m just trying to get carried out of the establishment after bottomless mimosas.

Essence:

Well, first we have to pry Dow’s hands off Platinum Jonesssssss

I spit out my toothpaste foam and placed my toothbrush back in the case. After I set my phone on the counter, I washed my face and applied moisturizer. Then I picked my phone up again and typed away as I made my way out of the bathroom to the bed.

ME:

Essence, you are so annoying. Just let me know a couple of days in advance so I can prepare my patient and set up arrangements in my absence.

Evie:

Is that code for something

ME:

BLOCKED!!!!!!!!

Daddy:

If you’re dating your client, you need me to write up a legal document, so your current job doesn’t terminate you for misconduct with a patient?

ME:

Daddy, please stop :/ There’s nothing going on between us. I’m not risking my career for him. It’s strictly business.

Daddy:

you sure?

I liked his message.

Mommy:

Hm. I hear you Dow! However, my dear, that man makes enough money to where you could quit HQ, open your own practice, and give me two or three more grandbabies

ME:

Everybody is blocked now. Goodbye!

More text messages came through, but I put my phone on the charger and finished getting ready. I opted on a pair of yoga pants and a loose-fitting long-sleeve college sweatshirt. I pulled my hair into a ponytail and slid on my anime socks and Crocs. I grabbed my phone, took pictures, and posted one to my social media story. I made my way through the poolroom to the living room.

The TV created a low hum throughout the room. Platinum was in the same spot he’d been in every morning for the last three weeks’ worth of mornings post-surgery.

“Good morning,” I greeted as I went over to the curtains and pulled them open. The light beamed through the window and illuminated the room in a natural glow.

I glanced at Platinum, who didn’t react to my greeting. My eyes scanned his frame and noticed the prominent frown and down-turned gaze as he stared at the television. I followed his eyes and listened to the person on the screen as they spoke.

“Platinum Jones is a has-been and will never touch a field again,” the man said in a loud, obnoxious voice.
