K3: I’d give my life to see you smile the way you are now. You’re priceless, Cassandra. I know it and your parents did too. A woman like you deserves everything. I’ll stop at nothing to get it to you. I’ll stop at nothing to be the man I promised your father I would be, even as a kid myself. Sitting behind these walls, I’ve made you promise after promise after promise. I promised you a house when I got out. Marriage. A baby. A damn puppy.

I cackled.

Me: NOT TOO MUCH ON K4!

K3: Cassie, my peoples didn’t keep a family name to give it to a damn four-pound miniature Shih Tzu!

Me: You already promised to come home with him!

K3: I did...but I just felt like you needed him sooner. He’s in the migrant’s bathroom.

I screamed, hopping up and running to the guest bathroom. Sure enough, there was a big ass luxurious cage and a tiny little brown and blonde puppy. The collar on his neck had a bone hanging from it with K4 engraved.

Me: KENZOOOOO!

I whined.

Me: You were supposed to be here when I gave birth!

He laughed, hard.

Kenzo: Cassie, be quiet, gang. You so fucking silly. I got one more surprise for you. AYE! GET THE FUCK IN HERE!

I looked at the phone crazy as four niggas walked in with they hands behind they back. Once I realized he was about to make these niggas sing, I started dying laughing. They harmonized the fuck out of Complicated by Nivea. He knows that’s my fucking shit I dedicated to my Papa! And his big light skinned ass had the nerve to stand there with his first balled up like Joe Jackson!

I raised my hand in the air, grinding to the performance Papa got for me.

Me: K3 YOU ARE LITERALLY INSANE.

K3: That’s love, I don’t know what you mean.

Me: Well thank you, baby. They sounded good and scared!

K3: Fuck them!

Me: Ahh! I patted K4’s nose and he nipped me.

K3: PUT HIM ON THE PHONE!

I cackled, putting the little baby’s face into the camera.

K3: WHY THE FUCK YOU THINK BECAUSE I’M NOT THERE YOU CAN PUT YO HANDS ON YOUR MAMA?! GETCHO ASS IN THAT MOTHAFUCKIN CRATE, FOO!

Me: He didn’t mean to!

K3: NAH, HE WANNA BE GROWN THEN DO TIME LIKE YOUR FATHER!

I collapsed against the bathroom sink laughing at his stupid ass. The damn puppy done balled up in my arm because he scared of the hazel eyed demon on the phone. And Kenzo was beyond serious. I’m not locking my baby up.

I jumped on my bed, smiling and blushing. Doodas ran in the room. I helped him up so he could play with the puppy. Kenzo said Man-Man was bringing all of us, even the orphan, food from Tao. I sat in bed with my man on the phone as Doodas played with K4. I’m forever grateful for him.

Chapter 17: The Trilogy Part One

Devyn’s POV

One week since boat day

I’m alone, yet again. My mind searched every part of my brain to find one point, one thing, something to prove that I wasn’t wrong. That I’m not back in this position because of myself. Cassie arguing with a guy and getting a gun pulled out was dangerous. It was also dangerous for her and Juan to be playing in K3’s face. Even right, it all still felt wrong.
