“You’re fucking sick, the both of you. Now tell me where the fuck Am I? Where’s the guy I came in with?”

In the back of my mind, I know full well that I’m not in a hospital– not a real one anyway, but I need to know where Silas is. I need to know that he’s still alive.

There’s another look that passes between them both. Like they can speak without words. A silent conversation happening right before my eyes.

“Welcome to Salem Penitentiary, darlin’.”

Oh my god.

No. No, this... this can’t be right.

I swallow the bitter pill. “And where is the guy I came in with? I know you know where he is.”

A wicked smile pulls at the guard's lips, his hand firmly on the police baton at his hip. “Ahhh, that fucking freak. Man, I hope you bag his face whenever you fuck him cause that shit is the stuff of nightmares.”

The second guard pipes up with a cocky attitude. “If she can fuck that deformed dog, she’ll fuck anything.”

I can’t listen to this anymore. They have no fucking idea who they’re talking about, or what the Silent Killer, my fucking Silas, is capable of.

He might be a monster to the outside world, but I have the scary dog privileges and the moment he smells blood, his teeth are ready to bite.

Releasing my legs, I stand up slowly and use the wall to balance myself, keeping my head low but allowing my gaze to look up at them both.

“You have no idea who he really is, do you? I can see it in your faces, you think he’s just some raging looney with a fucked-up face, but you couldn’t be more wrong. He’s another version of evil. A dog thirsty for blood, probably yours in particular.” My gaze flicks between them both and I catch that small glimpse of fear in their eyes, an uneasiness bouncing between them both. “I can only hope for your sake, that you don’t end up in the same room as him. Then again, I think that’s exactly where you both belong.”

The guard directly in front of me shuffles on his feet, his knuckles white as he grips the baton tightly. It would seem that I’ve touched a nerve with my statement. The thought causes me to grin, a laugh slipping free from my lips, my own actions become uncontrollable.

“The fuck you laughing at, bitch!” He spits out, frustration heavy on his face but I’m too busy laughing, feeling my sanity slip away one grain at a time, that I don’t even notice him slipping the baton free to swing it across my face– but I feel it.

Fuck, do I feel it. The blunt end cracks across my mouth, splitting the fragile skin of my lips wide open. Immediately blood pools in my mouth and I lose my balance from the blow, my vision blurring. I try to grab onto the wall for support, but my legs give in from beneath me and I fall to the floor once more, landing heavily on my fragile bones.

Deep red blood spills across the white tiles as it pours from my mouth. I can feel it coating my teeth, slipping between the small gaps.

“You think you can fucking laugh at me, hm? You think you’re fucking above me? Well, guess what bitch, you’re nothing but shit on my shoe and I’m gonna show you exactly where you belong.” The guard crouches down in front of me, his grip tight on my jaw as he turns my head to face him. “You’re gonna be underneath us, like the fucking washed up cunt you are.”

A dizziness attacks my brain, creating a double vision of the guard and even though I’m afraid of whatever may come next, I can feel myself slipping away, falling headfirst into that darkness that keeps calling my name.

I can almost imagine Silas's voice, that deep rough baritone washing over me. “Bite back, little demon. Show ‘em those pretty fucking teeth.”

So, I do. I allow my lips to part, revealing the blood stained teeth as a crazed laugh breaks free. It bubbles up from my chest, shaking my entire body, my eyes rolling backwards.

“Oh, fuuuck.” I taunt. “You’re both gonna fucking die here, you stupid fucks. The Silent Killer is going to rip you limb from limb when he finds out what you’ve done to me.”

The moment the last word leaves my mouth, I stare into the face of the guard who's still crouching in front of me. “And I can’t wait to bathe in that bloodshed.”

The grip on my jaw tightens and I can feel my body being lifted from the floor. Immediately my hands wrap around the guard's wrist to ease the tightness around my throat. I can feel his flesh splitting as I claw at his skin, my nails digging in deep. He yanks me towards him until my body is flush with his.

“Your threats are empty in here, darlin’. There’s no one coming to save you, there’s no one to protect you. And we’re gonna have a little bit of bloodshed of our own, you vicious little bitch. Now smile for the camera.”

Instantly I clock the camera that’s mounted in the corner of the room. The tiny red light blinking in a slow rhythm.

Please... please don’t be watching this. The thought hammers into my brain, imagining this being played to Silas. It’ll crucify him, tear him to shreds to see this.

I thought I was strong. That I could fight against these men, but I can’t. I’m weak. So weak that I allow the tears to well in my eyes and fall down my face.

And there’s a high chance that I might die here.

As soon as Doctor Thorne left, a couple of minutes later a nurse entered the room with what looked to be an orange jumpsuit. Exactly like the one I wore when I was first brought in here. The sight of it alone had my skin slicked with sweat.
