Forcing my eyes open, I stare into hers, desperate to tell her how sorry I am, to apologise for how badly I fucked up, how meeting me is probably the biggest mistake of her life but even with all those menacing thoughts bashing around my mind, she still continues to look at me like I’m the centre of her world, a look that I just don’t deserve.

Dragging my eyes away from her, I turn to Thorne. A wicked smile spreads across his face, then I watch as he lifts his hand and presses a button before speaking through the intercom.

“Shall we begin the therapy?”

Instantly I turn towards the two guards who begin to circle around Iris like starving vultures, their eyes filled with a sickening darkness that I haven’t seen since my father was alive. I know that look all too well, it’s the same way that he looked at my little sister, like she was nothing but a piece of meat– a plaything to be toyed with.

I couldn’t save my sister and believe me I fucking tried and now my past is ready to repeat itself right in front of my eyes, and I fear that I’ll fail a second time.

The woman that owns my soul begins to cry, and that hurts me more than anything. It’s sharper than a blade to the chest or a bullet to the stomach, trust me I should fucking know, but I’d take that bullet every single day over the tears that rain down her perfect face.

I plaster my body to the glass, pulling the chains taut and assess the damage that’s already been done to her. A purple bruise has already begun to swell on her knee along with a red, angry mark across her stomach. A mark that looks exactly like the shape of the police baton the guards are holding. Not only that, but she’s also covered in handprints. Ones that don’t fucking belong there.

As my gaze roams over her bare figure, the more the rage in my stomach grows. It begins to swell until it’s all I can think about and I swear it right now, I’ll get her out of here and the damage that’s on her body, I’ll create tenfold on those fucking cunts who hurt her.

I’ll rain fucking havoc on this place, and no one will be safe from my wrath.

You fuck with my woman? I’ll fuck you up beyond recognition.

Thin rivulets of blood continue to trail down her slender arms from the handcuffs. Her entire body shaking in terror.

“I hope your eyes are open, my boy. I don’t think you’d want to miss this, and hopefully it gets you to behave.” Thorne speaks down to me like I’m a fucking child, then he nods his head once. It’s just a simple signal, but it’s enough to bring me to my knees as my entire world crumbles beneath my feet.

Brick by brick my castle falls as the guard's land blow after blow on her structure, and all I can do is watch. Shackled to the ground like a chained dog.

The guard to the right rears his arm back then he shoots a wink my way before cracking the baton against her ribs, causing a deafening wail to erupt from her mouth. She fists her hands and pulls up her knees in an attempt to protect herself, but it does nothing, she’s trapped.

With every blow that hits her, my soul fucking shatters into shards, piercing my body until I’m bleeding out.

“Ir... Iris!” I grunt out behind the muzzle whilst ramming my body into the glass. The frame shakes as I continue to slam my shoulder into it, but it doesn’t break, no matter how hard I throw my weight into it, it remains intact.

Turning to Thorne, I stride towards him. “Fu...cking, stop!”

He looks up at me with a shit-eating grin. “Haven’t you been taught not to speak with your mouth full?”

I lunge towards him again, the bolt on the floor that holds the chain creaks as I continue to pull at it. “St...top... this!” I scream but it comes out muffled which only angers me more. “I’ll... do what you want, just... let her go!”

Desperation fills my voice and the tears that burned my eyes flow freely now.

Thorne keeps his hand on the button which allows my little demon’s agonising cries to drown the room. It pierces into my skull like a red-hot poker, forcing me to clamp my teeth together. Agony smothers me as Thorne burdens me with the sound of her abuse.

“Beg me, like you know how to.” He spits out, then Iris screams through the speaker. “Don’t... do that! He’ll... never stop!”

Thorne cocks his head. “Don’t listen to her, Silas. Beg me and I can make all of this go away.”

If he wants me to beg, then that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’d give up my life for hers without a second thought.

I look away from Thorne for a moment and turn to face Iris. Open wounds litter her body, forcing blood to run over the beautiful ink that covers her skin. She looks at me with pleading eyes. “Don’t you... dare beg, Silas. This is... what he wants.”

I stare at her through the glass. “I can’t stand... by and watch them do this... to you, baby. This is killing me. I have... to do this!”

Tears rain down her face as she throws her body around, kicking her legs at the guards until they’re forced to grab her to hold her still.

“Please... please, don’t do this. Not for me.”

Listen to her Silas. Even if you give Thorne what he wants, he’ll never stop.

Gritting my teeth, I scrunch my eyes closed and ram my forehead into the glass again to silence the noise. The skin on my forehead splits opens once more, forcing blood to rain over my eyes.
