Once we were done, it was totaled. Bear volunteered to abandon the car. We hadn’t heard anything from Julian, and I assumed we wouldn’t. Christian didn’t give me details, but he told me he was going to handle Julian. I didn’t like the idea of Christian possibly getting into trouble, but I also knew I had to trust that he would be okay.

Tonight, all the guys were at the clubhouse drinking and playing pool. I was having some much-needed girl time. I wish Kira could be here, but she and Axel had an argument yesterday and weren’t speaking. Kira knew she was still welcome, but she didn’t want to risk seeing Axel.

I wished they would get it together. It was more Kira than Axel. I loved my best friend, but she was pushing him away. I knew for a fact he’d told her more than once that he wanted to be exclusive with her. She kept turning him down out of fear. I’d told her time and time again that she was going to end up pushing him away for good with her antics. She claimed she didn’t care, but I knew better. She liked him just as much but was too scared of getting hurt again. If she wasn’t careful, she would be the one responsible for her heartbreak this time around.

Cara’s phone started ringing, breaking me out of my thoughts. She answered the call on speaker. “What’s up, Twin?”

“Cara,” Oscar cried. “I need your help.”

Cara sat up, alarmed. “What is it?”

“I think Bentley is cheating on me!”

Bianca and I stared at each other, worried. Cara didn’t seem to feel the same way, as she smirked, taking a sip of her wine. “How could he be cheating? Didn’t you say you two hadn’t put a title on what you were doing?”

“I don’t care! He can’t get me pregnant and then decide he doesn’t want me anymore!” he screamed.

We all burst into giggles. “Twin, how many times do I have to tell you? You don’t have ovaries,” Cara reminded him in amusement.

“Stop laughing, heifer! I’m pregnant in spirit!”

I had to hold my stomach because I was laughing so much. I swear Oscar was a whole character. Anytime you were around him, you were guaranteed a good laugh. It was worse when they were together.

“Okay. Okay. I’ll stop laughing. Tell me what you need me to do, Twin. You know I got your back.”

“I need you to help me break into his house. I know he’s there. I got his location on my phone.”

Bianca and I stopped laughing instantly. Oscar was a friend, but Bentley was our brother.

“That’s it? I’m on my way. Send the location,” Cara agreed and hung up.

“Cara!” Bianca and I shouted.

She frowned in confusion. “What? I need a little excitement. Plus, I’m going to make sure Oscar doesn’t try and kill your brother. He’s going over there with or without me.”

Every day I realized Cara wasn’t your average crazy chick. This girl probably had about five screws. Two of them were missing, and the other three were loose, barely hanging on.

“Well, we’re going too. No man should face you and Oscar together,” Bianca said, standing up.

Cara sniggered. “Okay, but let me grab something really quick.”

“It better not be a weapon, Cara!” Bianca shouted as she ran off.

Two minutes later she came back with some kind of hat or something. “Okay, let’s ride.”

We all got into Cara’s truck and left. By the time we pulled up to Bentley’s house, Oscar was parked down the street, pacing. When he saw us, he ran over to the truck.

“Oscar, I can’t believe you’re about to break into our brother's house,” Bianca scolded him.

He waved a hand up. “Bianca, please. You both warned your brother I was not sane, and he still pursued me. Anything I do is his fault.”

I couldn’t help but laugh because we had warned him. It seems he thought Oscar's crazy antics were a turn-on, though.

“Okay, but you can’t harm him, Oscar,” I told him.

“I have no intention of hurting him. That would be like hurting myself. He does this thing with his ton—”

“Stop right there!” I hissed. “I don’t want to hear that.”
