I smile against the mask as his hand slides to the back of my neck.
“You enjoyed them while I waited.”
“That was the idea.”
The Voice lowers closer, his thumb pressing along my jaw. “I disliked every minute of it.”
“I noticed.”
Ash’s other hand closes around my hip, the pressure bordering on bruising.
Behind me, Cade says, “You gonna keep talking or actually do something?”
Ash turns his head.
Cade has removed the skull mask. His mouth is swollen from mine.
Ash looks at it, then at me. His grip turns brutal for one second.
Owen’s white mask turns toward him. “This was always going to happen.”
Ash says, “That does not improve it.”
Cade comes closer. “Good to know.”
Jealousy might still be a part of it, but none of them are going to let it be enough to end this.
I reach for Ash’s mask. He catches my wrist fast enough that my pulse jumps beneath his fingers, watches my face, then lets me remove it.
His hair is damp beneath the straps, and his composure is already gone.
“You look angry.”
“I am.”
“At me?”
“At all three of you.”
Cade scoffs. “You were standing alone in the dark voluntarily.”
Ash looks at him. “I was standing where she left me.”
I grab Cade’s shirt before the argument grows. He comes willingly.
Too willingly.
Ash keeps his hold around my waist while Cade stops inches away, the two men staring at each other over my shoulder.
Owen stands beside us, silent and watching. The old white mask gives him an unfair advantage, so I pull it off his face.
He wants me.
The look he gives the other two says he would also like considerably more distance between their hands and my body.
I reach for Owen.
He takes my hand and pulls me against him hard enough that Ash has to release my waist or be dragged with us.
