A rough breath leaves him. “You sure?”

“I know who I’m talking to.”

His free hand closes around my thigh. The grip is immediate and possessive, his fingers digging in hard enough that I feel each one separately.

That’s better.

I move against him.

Cade’s mouth leaves mine and drags along my jaw. His teeth catch just below my ear, and I tighten my bound arms around his neck until he groans into my skin.

The sound runs straight through me.

His hand climbs my thigh.

I catch his wrist before it reaches my hip.

Cade opens his hand beneath mine.

I move his palm where I want it. “Right there.”

His fingers close immediately, pulling me tighter against him.

I kiss him again.

The belt creaks above us as I move in his lap. Cade’s mouth turns rougher, his body answering with heat and pressure trapped between us while his hands stay exactly where I placed them.

I catch his hair, and he lets me pull his head back.

“You wanted proof I was still here.”

His pupils are blown wide. “I wanted you where I could fucking see you.”

“That is what you have.”

His hand tightens at my hip. “Right now.”

Cade goes still.

I feel the protest building, but he keeps it behind his teeth.

I kiss him instead.

His mouth drags over mine, then down my throat. The hand at my hip slips beneath the back of my shirt and spreads across bare skin, hot and possessive, his fingers pressing in as if he wants to memorize the shape beneath them.

I move harder against him.

Cade curses into my neck. His breathing turns ragged.

“Salem.”

The way he says my name makes me look at him.

His face is completely exposed, hunger stripped of the skull mask and the attraction that once gave him an excuse. Cade stares at me while his hands shake with everything he is refusing to take.

“You missed me.”

The words hit wrong.
