“And you brought me up.”

“Don’t let her get you started.”

“Too late.”

I reach for her, and she comes willingly, still smiling when she slips her arms around my neck. Her kiss makes me forget the answer I was going to give her. I get one hand around her waist and brace the other against the door.

“We have time to rest,” she says against my mouth.

“Plenty.”

Neither of us moves toward a pillow.

Giselle catches my bottom lip between her teeth, and I put a hand behind her head before she can move away. She laughs into the kiss. I like having that laugh in my mouth. I like that she knows exactly what she’s doing when she starts on my shirt.

We get to the bed without finishing either set of buttons. I sit and bring her between my knees, her blouse open, my mouth against the warm skin above her bra. She tips her head back when I draw one cup down. I take her nipple into my mouth, and the laugh leaves her on a sound that makes me pull her closer.

Her fingers tighten on my shoulders. I give her the other side, my hand supporting the weight of her breast while my tongue works over the tip. Then she climbs onto my lap, and I feel how badly she wants this through the clothes we still have on.

“You were saying something about rest,” I tell her.

“I’ve reconsidered.”

I kiss her and turn us onto the bed. She brings me with her, already reaching for my belt. I start to get up for a condom, then look back at her.

Her blouse has slipped off one shoulder. She is watching me, her fingers still hooked through my belt loop.

“Did your results come back?” I ask.

“Friday. Yours?”

“Monday.”

She sits up against the pillows. “They’re on my phone.”

I get it from her bag and pick up mine. She reaches for her glasses. We open the reports and exchange phones, her bare knee against my thigh while we read. When she hands mine back, she leaves her fingers against my palm.

“I still have the IUD,” she says. “And there hasn’t been anybody else.”

“Just you here, too.”

She takes off her glasses. I set both phones on the nightstand, then take the glasses from her and put them down, too.

“I want you like this,” I tell her.

Her hand comes to my face. “So do I.”

I kiss her slowly. My hand is steady on her face, but I can feel my pulse everywhere she touches me. I want to get back between her legs. I also need another second right here.

“I’ve never done it without one,” I say against her lips.

She draws back enough to see me. Her hand moves down my chest, and I cover it with mine.

“I keep wondering if I’ll ever get enough of you,” she says.

I pull her closer. “Hope not.”

She kisses me then, pressing against me until I have to put an arm behind her to keep us upright. I feel how much she wants this. It makes me stop worrying about what to do with all the wanting on my side.
